If you’re all about the fringe and floral this season (like we are) then you’re going to absolutely love today’s couple! Allison + Isaac’s wooded West Virginia wedding took place at Flying Squirrel Ranch & Distillery, a scenic 2-hour drive from DC. A 3-month-long engagement was still too long for these two lovebirds, but they opted out on eloping for one important reason…
My beloved, Isaac, and I met online in whirlwind romance – within the first week we both knew our souls were connected. We are both hippie, free spirits with a love of classic vinyls, bad reality shows and antiquing. After a few months we took a trip to Sedona, Arizona to see family. After the end of a wonderful week, Isaac led me down a candle lit trail in front of a beautiful canyon where champagne met us at the bottom. He proposed and I said yes; we wanted to immediately elope but knew my 4-year-old son should stand next to us.
Hana Gonzalez Photography captured the dreamy day…shall we have a look?
LOVE love love these cosmic booties.
Isn’t Isaac’s suit amazing? It was a thrifted find by Allison! (PS: we love a groom in floral!)
Floral arrangements, bouquets, and boutonnieres, were all handmade dried florals!
The wedding altar was decorated with candles and gold lanterns, a Moroccan rug and a miniature peacock chair for Allison’s son to sit next to them – so cute!!
One of my favorite memories was when Isaac’s childhood friend and our officiant, Craig, gave a speech during the ceremony that made me cry like a baby. It was such a special moment and our son watched on as we said our vows.
THE most amazing French tail braid we’ve ever seen!
We LOVE A + I’s woodsy, bohemian decor. Antique glassware, vintage serving dishes, milk glass, bohemian fabrics, rugs, and furniture were a mix of family antique pieces from the 60s and things Allison picked up thrifting. Everything else (plates, napkins and other small decor) was picked up at Michaels, Amazon and Target!
Such a romantic, intimate day full of the prettiest details! Allison’s advice? Breathe, give yourself time, let others help you and ASK for help if you need it. Weddings are stressful – don’t worry, it never goes as planned anyways.
Simple and profound. Big congrats to these two!
