Sometimes uniformity can be so overrated, and today’s handmade San Luis Obispo ranch wedding, captured by Danielle Poff Photography, really backs up that idea! When asked about the inspiration for their day, Kaitlynd + Joel simply said, Everything was mismatched and really easy going. We don’t like to match and we didn’t want it to be a traditional-looking wedding, we just wanted it to be fun and low stress! A pretty great wedding philosophy, don’t you think? So, mismatched bridesmaid dresses, juxtaposing decor + hand-picked design elements were all a go, and it resulted in day where these two – and their laid-back personalities – could really shine!
Cute, cute getting ready robes…
…but we think we like their dresses even better! Kaitlynd’s ladies each picked a dress that they loved from retailers like Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters + Nordstrom Rack. If you’re considering doing the same thing for your wedding, share this post with your bridesmaids! We have a fun shopping guide to get a similar look below :)

And we have to give a little love to the guys! We can totally get on board with Joel’s groomsmen in chambray shirts! If you need a starting point for this look, check out ASOS’ selection of men’s denim shirts.
When my husband Joel and I linked arms, I told him I just wanted to kiss him already and he leaned in for a kiss! Everyone started laughing.

Beautiful wedding! Who made the bride’s ring? It’s amazing!
I LOVE her ring! I’m having the hardest time deciding on a ring for myself. I would love to know who made hers.
Thank you so much for this feature! This was one of my favorite weddings this year, and it was extra special because Kaitlynd & Joel are friends of mine :)
I love the simplicity and old fashioned feeling of this wedding! Absolutely beautiful!
I wish weddings in the fields or in the woods were more popular in the UK. Well, the weather factor plays a big role here. I really like the photos here, this is exotic for me.
