Just months ago I decided to create my own business out of my photography. I’m still getting it off the ground. Three Nails Photography has been my biggest creative inspiration and my inspiration to do what I love and enjoy ever since his work was brought to my attention earlier last year. I would be ecstatic to win a seat at one of his workshops. I dream that one day I could, but for now I wouldn’t be able to afford it on my own.

I would absolutely LOVE to attend one of Hunter’s Three Nails Photography workshops. In my eyes, he is one of the best, and someone I look up to. I have always used photography as a way to document how I see the world. I have used it as an escape sometimes, from reality. I believe that in going through the process of imagining a concept and bringing it to life, I collect pieces of myself, and awaken aspects that are buried deep down inside of me. I am highly influenced by fairytales such as Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, The Lady of Shallot- anything that is ethereal, whimsical, and promotes dreaming as a form of distorted reality. I use photography as a door, or a Rabbit Hole, to allow me passageway to a completely unmapped world and to design my dreams and my future. This was the basis is creating my photographic style. Though I have opened up to the “professional portrait” side of photography I still try to instill a bit of whimsy and romanticism.
I feel as though Three Nails does this flawlessly. I would love to learn from him and thereby refine my craft. It is my dream.

I have been following Hunters work and career for last two years and everytime I see a new photoshoot of his I am more and more stunned. I admire his work greatly! Since the photography industry is constantly growing, it’s getting harder and harder to get your work out there with tons of other photographers trying to get work as well! I’ve been wearing myself thin, photographing newborns, and families, maternity and even fashion models. Not entirely on my own, of course- I’ve been assisting other photographers for a few shoots. On my own, i’ve shot a few stylized shoots of children and of some of my girl friends, a couple of my niece as a baby and i’ve enjoyed all of them! I admire the way hunter takes on a project, and how he makes everything he does his own and how you can pick out a three nails image among others- you just know it’s his. If i was to win this seat, I know that I would learn so much from him, but I would be able to put my own spin on my images as well.There is something so beautiful and whimsical about his images, and I find them so alluring. I find it so inspiring that someone my age can create and put together something that is this amazing. I just know that this would be the cherry on top of an already busy year, that it would turn my hectic and stressful summer around!

Hunter’s work blow’s me away. He is a true artist who pushes every boundary edge & mixes vintage with creativity to come up with some serious unicorn galloping through the fields awesomeness. Incredible is an understatement for just how great he is. ohh my. I’d love to attend a work shop. I have so many question for Hunter. How he approaches the average everyday wedding artistically. How he started his business. Things about pricing, prints, editing, and packages. But I think the most benifitial thing would come from watching him work, and how he poses and communicates with the couple. How often he changes his angle, how he relaxes the couple, and gets them to pose like supermodels. Seriously this would be so amazing. I’d learn so much from Hunter.
I love your work and would love a chance to attend one of your workshops. I have been a stay-at-home mom with twins for the last 4 years and am ready to be re-inspired and back at it.

I need this. I have left everything I know behind to pursue my career as a photographer full time. I am self-taught and self-motivated. If I were here to learn technique, I would’ve gone to school for this. But I want to learn creativity. I want to know how to turn a photo into this beautiful, captivating illustration of a moment and create things so artistically sound that they will never be forgotten. I have yet to enjoy another photographer’s work as I enjoy yours. It’s one thing to capture feelings in photos, but to stimulate feelings through your photos is truly a gift. I want to give people the gift of seeing themselves as the beautiful people I see them to be. I want people to see personalities in my photos, not faces. I guarantee that every thing you teach would be utilized to the t. I accept my opportunities as gifts and learning from you would certainly be one of the greater gifts I could receive. I figured if I want to be a great photographer, I need to just go do it. And make sure I secure every chance I get to become better.

I am writing on behalf of a friend. She and I have followed Hunter’s photography for quite some time. He has been the inspiration for some of the ideas of our photo shoots. And, he is truly a respectable individual from everything that I have heard and/or seen.
That being said, last summer I was unable to give my friend a birthday gift due to the unexpected passing of my father. It was a tumultuous month for us all, my friend included. She has been so wonderful and understanding and supportive of all of my professional and creative decisions. I cannot think of an individual that is more deserving than her. She is beautifully creative, innovative, and inspiring with her photographic style.
This year, Hunter is hosting a workshop on her birthday, and I would love to win this on behalf of my friend. She deserves a birthday to remember after a nightmare of a month last year. She is one of the most deserving individuals, although I might be biased.

I am a photography student at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and am going into my 4th quarter. I’ve looked through Hunter’s photos countless times for inspiration for my class shoots. Several people have asked me to shoot for their weddings, engagement, and senior/family photos, and I would love to give them the best quality images I can offer through creative set ups. I’ve been following Hunters work since it very first appeared on this blog. We desperately wanted him to shoot our wedding last August but we were not able to get together enough funds. Hunter was always such a sweetheart when he talked to us. I first came a cross Three Nails Photography when I was in the midst of creating my own business name. I thought about what I wanted to portray in my photos and my first thought was love. Three nails driven into the hands and feet of Christ, the ultimate sacrifice was the first thing that came to my mind so I googled the name three nails photography and I discovered Hunter’s work. I’m blown away by his work and just how different and unique it is. I’m a small town girl from Idaho and find myself uninspired by the local photographers. I myself have been very “commercial” in my approach to photography but I’m ready to run full force out of my comfort zone and be that inspiration to other photographers in my community. I’m 100% self taught and feel a little bit stuck. Getting to attend hunters workshop would seriously be a huge answer to my prayers. I have images and inspiration of love, grace, strength that I want to portray that in my photos but it all flies out as soon as I get to my shoot. Call stage fright or lack of confidence. Hunter, if you are reading this, I just want to say how incredible you are.
You have been an inspiration to me since I first saw your work a few years ago. (probably a typical answer, but so true!)
I’m only nineteen years old and have started my business when I was fifteen. Throughout my business, I have strived to tell a story through a photograph. I can’t better describe myself better than a storyteller. I have tried several times to really show what was going through my head into images but just never seem too get it through. I have always wanted to just work around someone who has that creativeness, that passion and I can’t tell you how much of a blessing this would be.
I’m pretty sure I would cry tears of joy.
I feel God has blessed me with a talent, and I would love for you to help me further this.
Though I’m young and always looked down on for it and never taken seriously, I still have that passion and strive that keeps me going. I’ve had some less-than-ideal brides over the past couple of years, so I’ve made the unfortunate decision to hang up my camera for a bit…. That said, I am looking for incremental guidance/knowledge to help regain my once established confidence. Since my start as a photographer, Hunter and his work have been a large part of my inspiration (probably the largest), and I would LOVE to attend one of his sessions to regain the love I had for this art!
I found out about TNP when another budding photographer I follow, Julian N Photography, attended one of Hunter’s workshops. I have been so inspired by the growth Julian has shown and am completely in love with Hunter’s style. As someone who is new to the industry, I think a TNP workshop would be invaluable to inspiring me and helping me grow!

This is a dream & goal of mine for quite some time. I absoulutely love the styling of Three Nails Photography. So much time & thoughtfulness has occurred to make his shoots happen. I also want to learn how to make my photos feel as art. The photography produced by Three Nails looks like a painting many times. Me and my wife had ThreeNails do our engagements, bridals, and wedding! Hunter is an exceptional photographer! He has the eye and creativity that most lack.
Every photographer has their own story of when they first “fell in love” with their craft. Being self-taught, it has been one bumpy road for Salvador (my camera) and I! ;) Only being 20 years old, I am quite happy with my small wedding and portrait photography business that I have built up over the past three years. It has taught me how to work with clients, how to create someone else’s image, and how to grow as an individual. However, I want to break into more extravagant and styled photography (Ahem, which is where Three Nails comes in. Woohoo!). Living in Mississippi has proven itself as an obstacle to learn from fellow photographers given their sparsity, and I would love the opportunity to learn from a photographer I look up to. This fall, I will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design (literally one of my dreams come true), and being able to experience a workshop before heading off would give me that “edge” in my work that I have been searching like crazy for.
All in all, I know the experience would be simply amazing – I can only hope I am chosen for this opportunity.

There are a lot of amazing photographers out there. So far, I’ve been lucky enough to be close (distance wise) to many of them. However, an opportunity to study under them would be far better than lucky, it would be a blessing. My life long dream has to become a photographer. So far, I’m making my way there. I’d love to be able to study with and learn from Hunter. His style is amazing. To be able to pick apart his brain and get a glimpse of his creative thinking would be the learning opportunity of a lifetime. My favorite part of being a photographer is being able to document one of the most special days in a persons life, their wedding. Last year Hunter travelled all the way up here to Canada, more specifically Ottawa, to shoot our wedding. I was so eager to meet him and learn from him, but obviously I was pretty lost in the experience of marrying the love of my life!
I’d love for the chance to actually absorb all I can from Hunter. He is a true artist. That’s what I love about his work – it goes beyond simple photography. It’s true art.
People have told me I have a gift as well. I’ve been learning this gift and growing in to it as people have began to hire me to be behind the camera. I’ve just kind of stumbled in to it. Recently, while shooting my fourth wedding, I finally decided this is something I want to pursue. To take part in his workshop would be a HUGE boost and a great step forward in this adventure.

This is so inspiring! I am actually still pretty new to weddings and this is the best of the best to learn from! I would love to attend a workshop but do not have the financials to do so right now. My goal for 2014 is to expand my wedding business, so that I could quit my day job and do this full-time, so I can spend more time with my baby girl. I discovered Three Nails Photography when I saw images from this workshop post by Trou Moua and the minute I read the phrase , “Hunter made that wagon…” on Trou Moua’s caption I decided someway, somehow, someday I was going to attend a Three Nails Workshop. That kind of attention to detail and dedication to quality is exactly what a mentor should have and it is what sets Three Nails Workshops apart! Why would I want to attend? Well, why wouldn’t I?!

I have followed hunters work for a long time. He is an amazing photographer and it’s inspiring to see how his career and work have come along. His work is unique and stands out from the rest. The black for clothing is a tad harsh for me, but I absolutely LOVE AND ADORE it on the table setting. It is AMAZING and photographed SO WELL. I love it. I also adore all of the dresses. They are just absolutely fantastic. Totally inspirational and such a wonderful shoot to jump off from!!!
