Get the Look: Meghan Markle’s Wedding Day Looks!

I think we can all agree that Meghan Markle is absolutely MAGNIFICENT. We anxiously awaited the royal wedding — wondering what she would wear — and she certainly did not disappoint. From all the sweet exchanges between her and Harry, to her glowing makeup, the sweet bouquet (partially plucked by Harry), and the TWO gowns… we were in absolute awe. And we have a feeling that quite a few readers out there were too!

Both gowns were simple and striking, modest yet modern. The first of the two, a three-quarter sleeve gown by Givenchy, highlighted a bit of décolletage, and paired with her elegantly embroidered veil (and that crown!!). The reception gown, a bespoke Stella McCartney Lily White gown with a high neck detail in silk crepe, was our personal fave. Plus Harry’s James Bond-looking velvet suit jacket? SO GOOD! We have a hunch that a trend will quickly arise (and we are HERE for it) — minimal + sleek gowns, with a sultry touch. For brides out there that want to emulate Meghan’s beautiful bridal look, we’ve found several gowns, fit for a princess:

Inspired by the Givenchy Ceremony Gown

The full-skirted, bateau-necked, silk cady gown was designed by Givenchy designer, Clare Waight Keller.

The designer told reporters, “He [Harry] came straight up to me and said, ‘Oh my God, thank you. She looks absolutely stunning.’” How sweet is that?!

Meghan’s first gown is utterly sophisticated, while still cool. We adore the three-quarter sleeves and the bateau neck is striking. One of the major takeaways: the silk cady fabric (essentially a woven double crepe) is clean and understated — it didn’t need any frills or added detailing, letting the construction of the dress and the veil shine on their own.

Ooh la LOVE! Meghan’s reception dress is sexy, while still sophisticated and ultra-modern. Like her first dress, this gown echoed its minimal design with clean lines and silk fabric, devoid of any embellishments or lace.
