Geometric Garden Wedding: Michaella + Jordan

Geometric Garden Wedding

For Michaella + Jordan, the year leading up to their wedding was a tumultuous time due to family illnesses and injuries. Because of this, the couple knew they wanted their wedding to be a huge celebration a celebration of life and all the beauty in this world. Through incorporating a respectful and loving homage to Michaella’s mother, embracing each and every one of their guests with open arms, and dancing the night away they were able to do just that.

The couple had a clear vision of how they wanted their wedding to look, but more importantly, how they wanted it to feel. The team at To Have & To Hold was able to create the whimsical + romantic feel they wanted, and set the stage for one rockin’ party. With florals from Jolie Fleur Del Mar, and a sprinkling of softer elements, the wedding had a rustic, yet modern industrial look.

Their photographer, Natalie, from Red Barn Photography shares the first time I met Michaella + Jordan, they didn’t shake my hand – instead they greeted me with a warm hug. And that’s the way they are as a couple: warm, inviting, and they fill you with such joy.

Michaella noted that choosing a great photographer was of the utmost importance to her + Jordan, and they definitely found one. Natalie definitely captured that joy, the passion they have for life, and the love they have for each other.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

We danced the night away and loved every single second of it. Our first look at the Mission was incredibly touching, and my walk down the aisle with my Dad toward Jordan was one of the most emotional moments of my life.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Don't feel like you're stuck with the first option you're given or the most expensive... Evaluate what's really important to you both and splurge a little bit on those things, and for everything else just improvise and hunt for bargains.

Lastly, it's incredibly helpful to have one partner be the "responsible" one (definitely Jordan, in this case!) to keep the other from going off the deep end and spending your whole joint savings account. He helped to keep me in check, otherwise I'd keep getting wrapped up in the fantasy. We could have easily spent double what we did, but it wouldn't have made the day any more spectacular. What really made the day magical was the love, energy, and joy from us and our loved ones.
