As soon as the amazing Mary Costa sent us her images from Joyce + Oliver’s colorful Brooklyn Winery wedding, we immediately wanted to be friends with these guys! It’s possible we’ve never seen a more smiley duo and the fun details + playful vibe these two infused into their day was contagious through the computer screen. We wanted to hear more about their inspiration or theme, and Joyce told us, The inspiration behind our wedding day was ‘163,000 miles later’. Having been in a long distance relationship for so long, we sat down one day and calculated how far we had traveled to be together and it turned out to be roughly 163,000 miles.
We love it when couples use a big part of their history as inspiration for their wedding day. Let’s see how J + O took their story and turned into the wedding they always dreamed of!
A happy bouquet for a happy bride! We love what Violet & Verde created for the florals.
Mary tells us, They wanted their photos to be a major priority and spent the first hour of their day wandering the streets of Brooklyn, stopping by colorful walls and graffiti.
You don’t see purple bridesmaids dresses too often, but these ladies are seriously rocking theirs!
More fun nods to Joyce + Oliver’s long distance past…
And love all the handmade hanging fern wreaths!
It has to be a tie between Oliver's toast during the reception when he thanked our friends and family and the moment I realized I didn't have to be on a wedding diet anymore and stuffed my face with cheese and salami before walking down the aisle.
