Today’s gorgeous styled shoot, inspired by the well-known romantic film Chocolat, is overflowing with beautiful details and some really gorgeous florals! Staged at an old schoolhouse with captivating architectural detailing like paned glass windows, textured plaster walls and wonderfully worn hardwood floors, the team (led by Kim at Petal Pixie), brought in just the right amount of warmth and elegance to perfectly juxtapose with the space’s rustic vibe. And everything was documented beautifully by Alixann Loosle!
From Kim, I was watching the movie Chocolat one night with my fiancé and I kept thinking to myself this is the perfect movie for an inspiration shoot! I didn’t want the shoot to replicate the movie in any way but I did want it to have a rustic french country look and feel. I wanted to keep the main color palette as cream, multiple shades of brown, and gold. With this color base you could accent with a variety of color combinations and have it look fantastic…
So in love with the bouquets Kim designed using peonies, clematis, lilac + roses!
For the table design I wanted to create a family style feel with romantic details. I used a bronze linen from Cloth Connections and off white dinner plates with the most amazing detailed salad plate. I used soft purples, cream, and blush for the flowers which added a hint of color without being overpowering. I love pairing cheeses with fruit and bread so I added those to the table as well for added texture and interest.Â
The cake, created by Cake Dame, was another nod to the team’s inspiration. It included a combination of white, milk, and dark chocolate. Sounds (and looks) amazing!
Big thanks to the following creatives for sharing their talents with us today!

I love that dress! Does anyone know which designer designed it?
I absolutely love her dress! Can someone please tell me who the designer is? I’ve tried looking at Danielle’s Bridal website with no luck. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the lovely feature! All the vendors who participated did such an amazing job. Everyone who has asked about the dress designer, I will double check with Danielle’s and get the info. :)
Gorgeous!! Love love love those bouquets!
