Ever Wondered What a Florist’s Wedding Would Look Like? Here’s Your Answer!

Modern Boho Rooftop Wedding

Have you ever wondered what a wedding expert’s big day would look like? Here’s your answer, straight from a professional florist! Rochelle, the owner of Gather and Grace Designs, was absolutely elated when her fiancé, Blake, proposed. Initially, the couple shared the dream of marrying in Tulum, Mexico. However, when it was determined that her grandmother (affectionately referred to as Mawmaw) would not be able to travel, the couple decided to bring Tulum to Orlando!

We really love Mexico and originally wanted to have a destination wedding in Tulum. Family is everything to us and we realized that our grandparents wouldn’t be able to travel. My Mawmaw (the flower girl) is my best friend and I knew that I wanted her there. So, we decided to bring the Mexican vibes to Orlando!

The wedding that ensued was every modern boho lover’s dream. There were coconuts, dried palms, pampas grass, and disco balls galore! While Rochelle covered the event design and florals for the big day, she couldn’t do everything by herself! So, she brought in BellaSposa Events for planning, and photographer Stephanie Velez to capture each precious moment. Let’s see the final result!

A Trip to Tulum

Modern Boho Wedding Invitations

A classic, neutral color palette was at the helm for this modern boho wedding. Creamy whites and floral-inspired invitations by Andy Mejia made the perfect touch.

Matching bridesmaid pajamas

It’s time to get ready! Rochelle and her gals looked cute as can be in their matching pajamas while getting dolled up.

I knew I wanted something boho, yet classic. As soon as I put on my dress, I cried and knew it was the one! I went with an all-white dress with large, airy sleeves with minimalistic tassels.

And here is the bride’s bouquet! Rochelle opted for an arrangement of mainly orchids, along with seasonal flowers and just a hint of pampas grass.

Ceremony of a Lifetime

The ceremony space was kept minimalistic to help keep all eyes on the bride and groom. The wooden chairs were the perfect, subtle ode to Tulum’s landscape.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!! The planning and design process was so much fun for us. We didn’t let the pressure of having a “traditional wedding” hold us back and we brought in elements that meant a lot to us and that would fit what we wanted! We had fun food stations, coconut drinks, a sangria bar, disco balls, and everyone wore white, creams, and neutrals. It took so much pressure off of us and we had the best time.

Nothing speaks to the tropics more than coconuts! A drinkable coconut seating chart instantly transported the guests right to the beaches of Tulum. Yum!

The inside of the reception was every bit as stunning as the ceremony itself. Chic white tablecloths elevated the space to feel not only bohemian but also elegant.

A little disco never hurt anyone! Disco balls floating above guests’ place settings were the perfect fun and funky touch that they won’t soon forget.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The CO2 cannon that Blake was able to spray into the crowd and our DJ surprised us with a confetti drop! Everyone loved it and danced the night away!
