If the word “sequins” harbors memories of a neon prom dress featuring a blinding bodice (that you may or may not have loved at the time…) then we’ve got good news for you: three modern gowns are here to absolve all your fashion woes and give “sparkle” a whole new meaning. Los Angeles based designer, Lauren Elaine, created the Prismatic Planet mini collection just in time for NY Bridal Fashion Week and we’re lov-ing every little shiny detail! Each gown features a second-skin backless silhouette, a signature detail known to Lauren’s designs, and incorporates iridescent opal hues, art deco vibes, and prismatic sequin patterns so you can SHINE ON!
Lauren gave us some insight behind Prismatic Planet’s sparkly inspiration: Sequins are the most on-trend, unique way to incorporate sparkle into a bridal moment. They’re unexpected, but really pack a punch. For this mini-collection of sequin beauties, I really wanted to focus on clean lines, but with a flair for the dramatic. Understated, but powerful. These styles are also suitable for a wide range of venues and locations. From “Prism” – a sleek choice for a destination beach wedding, to “Bijou”– the modern twist on the classic ball gown silhouette fit for a modern-day fairytale. There’s something for every fashion-forward bride who wants to shine.
The best news? Lauren Elaine is offering 10% off all gowns for our GWS readers! More info on that below but for now, let’s have a look at Prismatic Planet – all captured at one of the super rad Desert X installations!
Bijou is a modern take on the classic ball gown silhouette, with layers of twirl-worthy horsehair-trimmed petals, v-cut open back, and plunging sweetheart bodice, and clean spaghetti straps.
We’re kinda in love with this skirt. And the bodice. And the back! Okay, okay…we love it all.
Prism is a sleek, backless trumpet gown with champagne satin underlay and scalloped horsehair hemline with peek-a-boo cathedral train.
Lucite is a show-stopping mermaid gown with feathered tulle and horsehair petal skirt, cathedral train, and subtle blushing nude underlay.
The Lauren Elaine line is available at the flagship Lauren Elaine Style House in Los Angeles (all her gowns are 100% made in LA!), as well as exclusive Lauren Elaine retailers throughout the US. Not in LA? You can purchase the gowns online, as well!
AND, if brides mention ‘Green Wedding Shoes’ when booking an appointment at the Style House, online, OR any of Lauren Elaine’s Trunk Shows (psst – there’s currently one in Texas running April 18th-23rd), they will automatically receive 10% off ANY gown purchase. *10% incentive does NOT apply to 3rd party salons – ONLY the flagship Style House, trunk shows, OR online purchase.
Thanks to Lauren Elaine for giving us the exclusive first look at you new mini collection!
