Ethereal “Love Is A Breeze” Wedding Inspiration

Love is a Breeze Inspiration

Kirk Diedrich once said, “Be the shore to my crashing wave. Be the salt air that I crave. Be the breeze that won’t behave. Be the peace my soul to save.” Inspired by this quote, the team behind this ‘Love is a Breeze’ styled shoot is transporting us to the Sunset Cliffs National Park in San Diego. Honing in on three main design trends — transparency, plaster + raw wood — the team created a clean and simple palette + concept that captured the essence of the California coastline and all its whimsical, airy and ethereal goodness. Event designer Seventh Bixel and planner Details, Darling opted for soft blushes, ocean blues and accents of white and gold to complement the surrounding cliffs.

Niki of Seventh Bixel shares Transparent materials were the foundation for the shoot. My husband and I built the ceremony backdrop using acrylic tubing, aluminum pipes and PVC fittings that were refinished to look like brass. Positioned in front were unfinished wood pillars in various heights that I repurposed as candleholders. The Dainty Lion ‘floralized’ the acrylic tubing backdrop and adjacent wood pillars, and the florals looked as if they were suspended in the sky. We wanted to incorporate as much of the gorgeous scenery as possible, while still styling beautiful vignettes…

We’re super intrigued!! Ready to venture to San Diego to see this easy + breezy shoot, photographed by Megan Welker?

Styled on top of an acrylic sheet, the invitation suite by Kimberly Gilroy of Sunkissed Paper added the perfect touch of whimsy, especially with the paintbrush strokes and the cool palette paired with a blush pink envelope.

The white and gold flatware paired perfectly with the dinnerware, and the look was completed with indigo dyed crinkle gauze napkins made by Seventh Bixel.

dessert bar

cotton candy glass

For the dessert vignette, they used a brass bookshelf with glass shelving to create an environment that enhanced the location while still allowing the beautiful view to come through. Niki shares incorporated a cotton candy machine and filled champagne coupes with the cotton clouds to add an elevated touch of whimsy to our airy dessert station. Chiffon draping fabric from Platinum Event Rentals was placed to the side of the dessert bar for the breeze to catch and blow in the wind next to the shelves.
