We might be in full summer swing at GWS, but we know several of you are knee deep in winter wedding planning! If that’s you then you’re going to LOVE today’s magical Colorado nuptials. McKenzie and Sean wanted an outdoor wedding despite the cold, and they worked with Aaron at Bash, Please to design a stunning day of winter whites, deep reds, and dreamy florals, all against their beloved mountain background.
McKenzie tells us: Sean and I met and live in Colorado. We love spending our weekends in the mountains hiking, skiing, camping and exploring. We wanted our wedding and decor to incorporate the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains and reflect our love for each other, of course, and the great outdoors.
Katherine Rose of Max & Friends took the most gorgeous, ethereal photos of M + S’s day! Let’s have a look:
McKenzie just GLOWS! She let us in on the phenomenal story of her gown:
Oh goodness. This was a stressful situation. I had bought a Sarah Seven dress before I found out we were expecting! When I tried it on it just did not work with my growing belly. I was in Virginia for Christmas and my mom had me bring the dress home. She made an appointment with Mr. Kwon at Kwon’s Boutique. He made me a completely new dress that mimicked the aspects I had liked about the Sarah Seven Dress and that would work with the growing baby bump. It really was a true miracle. I loved the dress he created for me (in less then 2 months) and felt so good in it. It was comfortable but I still felt elegant and like a real bride!
Dreamy bridesmaids dresses by Jill Jill Stuart—such a good color for a winter wedding! Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite burgundy gowns, cute pup not included ;)

This bouquet…we need a moment. Moon Canyon Design created STUNNING romantic florals for the day. Wait until you see the reception!
I loved the ceremony. In all honesty, I was actually not expecting to enjoy this part of the day as much. However, it was pure magic. My family rector (who has married both my brother and sister) came out from Virginia to marry us. I was 6 months pregnant at our wedding and it was awesome how he included the baby in our ceremony. Sean and I also chose to just have our siblings (and their families) stand up there with us. When I walked down the aisle, it was so cool to see the people that know me the very best on the other end.
Also, our wedding was in February so people thought we were insane to have an outdoor ceremony. Being in the foothills surrounded by a beautiful setting (from the mountains to the florals with the ghost chairs and Denver as the backdrop) and everyone we love, was incredible. It was so much better then I anticipated.
