Today’s wedding is actually a first year anniversary party/vow renewal. Kai + Cyrus had an Elvis “Do Wop Diner” Las Vegas wedding born out of their vision to achieve one of the goals on their Bucket List – to be married by Elvis – for their first year anniversary. So fun, right?!
From Kai, I think that growing up with movies and TV shows that would often show couples having an Elvis wedding, it became one of those things that made me curious and want to experience for myself. And so the entire experience, from getting our marriage license, to indulging ourselves with the “cheesy” limo ride, “The King” wedding cake, and Elvis officiating and singing “Love Me Tender” were just absolutely fun and memorable that it was as if we just starred in our own movie. But we still wanted that perfect balance between going for the “cheesy”, and making it as stylish as we can – hence, the Penthouse at the Trump, the unconventional styling, and a softer look for our photos. These were essentially what defined our wedding inspirations for our day.
The first year anniversary is symbolized by paper in most traditions and Kai wanted this incorporated in their vow renewal so it was done with a paper bouquet. The bouquet was created by a company called Handmade Goodness all the way from Manila, Philippines.
Our favorite memory was definitely that 30 minute moment when we had Elvis in our presence. He just exceeded our expectations! Everybody just loved him! And even though it was all an "act", he sure knew when to be funny, romantic, serious, and charming. It was the perfect way to have married my husband again – just because it was such a happy vibe and being so excited to do one of our Bucket Lists together, just made us fall in love with each other all over again.
As part of our Elvis package, we could choose 2 songs for Elvis to sing for us. We chose “Love Me Tender” and “Viva Las Vegas” just because what the heck right? It is an Elvis Vegas wedding after all! :)
Congrats and thanks so much to Kai + Cyrus for sharing their super fun first anniversary with us today!

Hi, Ms. Carla! Thanks for the mention. The paper bouquet was made by our DIY team, {etc} Handmade Goodness. ^_^
Oh my, her shoes are sick!
Just goes to show that even a Vegas wedding can be as tasteful and stylish! This is wonderful!
I too have been wondering about having a wedding in Vegas the Elvis style but I’ve always doubted that it would look pretty. Now I’m inspired to go through with it! Thanks for this feature!
Great concept with the Elvis Las Vegas theme.
