Ryan + Kelly met in the spring, were engaged in the spring, and now they’ve wed in the spring! When it came time to decide between the big wedding or something intimate, they actually opted to do both. The boho elopement was an intimate + affordable affair that began in fields of lupine and ended with burgers and motorbikes. Perfection. Here’s the bride, Kelly, with the inspiration behind the day:
We wanted a big wedding, but we also wanted an elopement. We made a decision to have both! Our love was our main inspiration and the color purple was second. When our photographer recommended a lupine field we knew right then that’s what we wanted. This elopement was just about us. We could cry ugly, be loud and silly, not care if our vows weren’t appropriate or perfect. We only had to look into each other’s eyes and not worry about the rest of the world! That’s whats elopements are all about – just you and your love!
Kelly found arina b photography on Instagram and they connected immediately. Arina planned the day by suggesting the lupine location and even brought a backdrop for the ceremony! But most importantly, she captured some real magic between Ryan + Kelly — let’s have a look!
Lupine + Love Letters
Oh gosh, every moment was topped by another. When I saw purple flowers, I froze. When I felt Ryan's back close to me and the touch of his hand I felt like I couldn't feel my feet. When I saw his eyes as I walked toward him to say, 'I do,' I could not look away. And those burgers. I was starving at the end! I now know why brides don't eat before the ceremony. You just simply can't! You're so nervous about your big step in life that you can't eat.
The Ceremony
The perfect aisle!
Ryan + Kelly’s friend officiated the sweet ceremony.
Okay, LOVE this.
Vintage-Inspired Wedding Dress
Ah, my dress! I love my dress by Saldana Vintage. Yes it’s not a $10k dress but I felt like I looked a whole $100k in it. I’m still not over lace-fringe-vintage feel. Saldana’s dress was exactly what I needed to be able to run through the fields of lupines and hope on the motorcycle with ease!
By the way, if you love this dress, we did an entire post rounding up some amazing boho wedding dresses that you can purchase on Etsy, including Saldana Vintage!

Bat Country Design weaved some gorgeous purple + yellow tones into Kelly’s happy bouquet!
Be you and don't think about others. Wear the dress you want and pick a place where you will feel most connected to your love. Pick a good photographer: your feelings will be so overwhelming that you might fully space out like I did and not even remember what your surroundings were like. Photos will capture it forever!
And away they go…burgers ahead! Such a rad boho elopement full of love and simple pleasures. Congrats to Ryan + Kelly!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love elopements and those colors are on point!
Beautiful! I’d love to know some more details about how they paired this elopement with a big wedding. That’s exactly what I’m looking to do, but am hung up on how exactly that could shake out in a fun way. If the bride or groom or their family/friends are reading this, I’d love some insight to hopefully get some inspiration :)
Hi! I’m a photographer and just saw this! I think if you considering to do this you should. Elopement is for you and big wedding is for your family and friend, you will not be stressed about photos or spending enough time with your family if you will do elopement. Plus elopement gives you a chance to get married at your perfect location or view where technically you can’t do a wedding but totally acceptable for elopement. You can wear one dress for elopement and another for wedding. And you don’t have to spend too much money. You just need location , which can be totally free , you need photographer and you don’t always even need an officiant. It can be just you two! Not sure if this at all helpful but if you have more questions do let me know!
Amazing photo and beautiful view . Thank you for sharing
@Arina, that is very helpful. Thank you :)
