The Texas-based creative behind today’s gorgeous shoot, Emily Allen of Cakewalk Bake Shop, says “Rustic” weddings are a big deal in Texas – and rightfully so, as much of our state’s history is steeped in ranching and farming culture. So, when her friend Melissa (who operates Photo Wagon, a popular vintage trailer photo booth service in Dallas) opened up a new venue on her partner’s gorgeous ranch (one of the oldest family-run horse ranches in the area), she jumped at the chance to style a shoot there.
The venue is named Summerfield at Tate Farms and Emily styled the setting to showcase all that the space has to offer – a hand-built barn, grain silos, and fields of wheat with sunset views. She says, I was thrilled at the opportunity to create something trend-forward and refined in a setting that has for the most part become defined by burlap. Let’s see it firsthand in Apryl Ann’s gorgeous captures below…
The metal barn and hand-made weathered wood benches inspire shades of cool gray and soft blues. Hay bales that dot the pastures inspired straw-like ivory tones. To soften and add a feminine quality, we incorporated hues of blush. Because the land offers so much natural beauty, we kept the overall decor understated, with an organic vibe.
