They tied the knot at a gorgeous private home in Baltimore, Maryland, working with a brilliant team of creatives to bring their key ideas to life. Their planners at Firefly Events told us, Brigit loves metallics, geometric shapes, Moscow Mules, and David Bowie. From our very first meeting, we knew we had found a kindred spirit! Sounds like the beginnings of a pretty great celebration, no?

After my sister who was the Maid of Honor and I lit a candle in memory of my mother who had passed away when I was in college, I turned back around to face Will. As we held each other’s hands and put our heads together to receive the blessing, we heard people gasp. Having absolutely no idea what had just happened, we continued to keep our heads down. As it turns out, a Hummingbird had flown in and was hovering right above our heads. My mother had absolutely loved Hummingbirds, and despite always having feeders as a child, I still had never seen one in person! There was no way in denying the fact that my mother was there at that after all.
From Firefly Events, For vessels we used a mix of metal, concrete and glass, giving the tables a cool, eclectic feel. To finish the tables off, we added tons of understated white cylinder candles along with navy taper candles in custom copper industrial candelabras, made by Sullivan especially for Brigit and Billy! Sullivan also made the cute tassels that we strung throughout the tent. This simple detail had a huge impact in person, and made the tent feel extra festive!
Calligrapher,Summer Yang, created small escort tags that were tied on to mini bottles of whiskey. This was a great way to incorporate favors into the escort cards!
Lock down your photographer, fast! Before you know it, the wedding will have come and gone, and it will inevitably all seem like a blur. It’s the photos that will spark your memory and make you feel that excitement of the day over and over for years to come. There are many great photographers out there who can capture stunning photos, but not every one will be able to capture the actual mood of the night and the experience of your guests. There’s a lot you’ll miss as you go around and acknowledge your guests, so it’s nice to relive the day through pictures. If money is tight, dip into your funds for favors and invitations and put that money toward the photographer. Relax, your guests will be having fun, and the details are always more important to you than it is for them. So treat yourself to preserving those memories!
