One of the best parts about wedding planning for the designer? Getting to know the couple, what’s unique about their relationship, their likes + interests, and incorporating all those tidbits into the big day!
Melissa of MK Social Co., the designer behind this tropical meets modern bash, shares After getting to know our couples, getting creative is one of our favorites! We’re often inspired by current trends in the industry, but more often we’re inspired by personalities & personal style – whether it be our own, our couples or our vendors. For this styled shoot, we wanted to showcase something fun & vibrant, a neon-inspired elopement with details that could easily translate for a larger party with family & friends!
Sounds pretty electric, right? Let’s see this elopement + reception inspiration, captured by Studio 29 Photography!
Completely shocking + fun!! While many of the elements for the day were kept modern, clean + slightly tropical, pops of fluorescent orange were added for a bit of pizazz. This striking invitation suite is the work of Grace Niu Design.
How rad is that custom neon sign from Echoneonstudio?
It was one wicked white Jill Jill Stuart jumpsuit and some rockin’ florals from Floral Alchemy for this bride!
If the venue allows it — bringing your little darling along is such a sweet touch… Especially when you get to dress them up in a floral collar!
Switching up the looks, the bride donned a simple + modern dress from Nordstrom, while the groom rocked pieces from Topman + Aldo.
Those bold Jessica Simpson shoes make for one heck of a whimsical + electric pop.

The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel in Milwaukee offered the perfect backdrop for this modern look. With full access to the open-air rooftop + beautiful cityscape from above, the team was able to turn the neon details into something high-end, while still being playful with color + texture.
Dressing up the table with pops of bright orange and textured flowers, we love how clean + cool this overall aesthetic is!
Who doesn’t love finger foods?! Wedding cake alternatives consisted of these adorable donuts + delicious painted macarons from Yield Bakehouse.
Cheers to that!! A final parting note from designer + planner, MKSocial: Our advice to couples who want to break from trends or tradition… Go for it! I believe weddings are about the people and that includes the details that reflect the people. Just have fun with it + show off your electric love!
