Yesterday we shared a brand new wedding venue in Long Beach and today we are sharing another fairly new wedding venue in Los Angeles! Hilary + Arthur were the first couple ever to exchange their vows at Big Daddy’s Antiques‘ (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married) Culver City location – yes, they also have a SF location. Big Daddy’s Antiques was completely transformed from an antique warehouse the size of an airport hangar to a romantic wedding space in just two days! GATHER Events did an incredible job of bringing Hilary + Arthur’s vision to life and I know you guys are going to love (and be so inspired by!) each and every detail incorporated into this romantic, eclectic celebration. Here’s more from Hilary about why they chose to host their wedding at Big Daddy’s:
We were having a very hard time finding a venue that felt unique + could hold a 220+ person wedding. A friend’s mom mentioned Big Daddy’s to me, not knowing if they did events, but knowing I would love the store. As soon as I walked in, I knew immediately that this is where Arthur and I were getting married. I loved every single piece of furniture in the warehouse + appreciated how the owner, Shane, curated the space. One of my favorite elements – built especially for the wedding- was a tall wood wall, made of reclaimed scaffolding planks, and adorned with hanging plants on one side of the ceremony space. It truly made the space feel complete!
Big thanks to Amy and Stuart for the gorgeous photography and congratulations to Hilary + Arthur on a beautiful day!
I’m super in love with their inviting ceremony space, set up in the warehouse’s loading dock area. The vintage french bistro chairs were swagged with vibrant bay leaf + massive lemon leaf garlands lined the aisle floor…
The Ceremony! I felt like we were being bound together in front of all of our loved ones. It was so powerful and a feeling I’ll never let go of.
No detail was overlooked at this wedding and by incorporating countless Big Daddy’s antique pieces into the design, everything had a custom + unique feel. Loving the vintage bottle drying racks, which held hand-calligraphed metal ‘escort hearts’!
From Hilary, Being in the restaurant business Arthur was very involved in the food. He worked with Vinnie + Jon at Animal to create the perfect menu and we had Bay Cities, Arthur’s favorite, as a late night snack. Arthur also lead the charge on the cocktail program. After hearing we loved whiskey, Robin + Sarah from GATHER came up with the idea of having a bourbon bar and the bar director at Animal came up with 3 specialty cocktails for us. Robin + Sarah curated the bourbon bar to be the ideal ‘man-cave’. It was amazing!!!
And isn’t the reception space magical?! Carissa of JL Designs knocked it out of the park with the incredibly lush + beautiful floral design! Specially sourced mercury glass, concrete, corrugated metal + glass terrarium vessels were filled with tulips, anemone, pieris, hydrangea + maidenhair fern, and giant garlands were draped from the beams above.
Processional: Groom: The Times They Are A Changing – Bob Dylan; Bride: Pachelbel's Canon in D
Recessional: Lover – Devandra Banhart
First Dance: Fly Me To The Moon – Frank Sinatra
Enjoy the entire process. Don’t lose each other throughout the night, and know that the best part of getting married is being married.

We’re so proud of the work the entire team did to make this such a special day for an amazing couple. Thank you for the feature!
What a fantastic event. From start to finish the antique, eclectic vibe was brilliantly maintained. I especially love how the designers and planners used the venue to every advantage, keeping things minimal when needed (like in the outdoor ceremony) and bringing a wow factor when needed (like in the reception). Really lovely. Thanks for sharing.

A gorgeous wedding at a super rad venue!
Absolutely gorgeous! Looks like it was a blast!
Amazing! What a big undertaking and it really paid off!
One of the coolest weddings I’ve ever seen. I love the groom’s reaction during the first look. What a cutie. Also, this might be the most fun wedding venues yet.
Amazing!! This location is awesome and so unique for a wedding. All the details are so wonderful.
one of my favorite weddings ever – those girls at Gather Events are just too good. If it had been open 4 years ago, I SO would have gotten married at that venue!
Magical wedding venue. Kudos to the couple for really thinking outside of the box. You could never replicate the wonderful decor of this wedding anywhere else!
