Dreamy Bohemian Almond Orchard Wedding Inspiration

Oh, the almond orchard blossoms! Seriously such a beautiful, dreamy site to see and the inspiration for this whimsical editorial. Alex of Peppermint Plum Photography grew up on this very farm that was the inspiration for this shoot. Let’s hear a bit more from Alex…”Growing up as a farmer’s daughter, my favorite time of year has always been those two weeks in February where the almond orchards transform into a sea of pale pink blossoms. They coat the ground like a warm spring snow, creating the most beautiful landscape, perfect for a bridal inspiration shoot! This particular shoot took place in one of my family’s almond orchards in California’s Central Valley. 

From Alex, The Daughters of Simone “Lu” gown is the perfect combination of bohemian and romantic, exactly what I envisioned amongst the blossoming almond trees. I love the way the train drapes, and the off the shoulder design provides such a romantic feel. The lace trim is so feminine and pretty, and fit in with the orchard so beautifully.

I also collected a few old wooden ladders I found lying around my family’s farm to incorporate a rustic element. I love the idea of adding ladders as decor to a wedding for a variety of different purposes, and I feel that these images provide brides with inspiration on how they can use them as well!

Moody hues were the palette for the flowers in order to juxtapose the soft femininity of the surrounding blooms. Her bouquet was wild and organic; vines cascading down and thrusting here and there. A variety of florals were included to create different textures and colors. The bride’s modern twist on the fishtail braid was adorned with cascading deep purple and mauve flowers, creating an anti flower crown. We also added a floral anklet to add a bit of whimsy to the bride’s bare feet. Five-and-Two provided the most gorgeous jewels. They added with the bohemian vibe of the dress perfectly.

Kind of loving her anklet corsage, right!?!
