Have you ever dreamed of having a whimsical Pacific Northwest Wedding? After couple Teresa + Dave fell in love with the PNW after some of their travels, they knew a destination wedding at Roche Harbor Resort, in the San Juan Islands was the perfect venue for their big day!
This couple planned their entire wedding long distance with their event designer Melissa with Bright Side Events from their home in New Jersey! And 100% of the wedding guests came from out of town. The look was minimalistic modern, with a touch of boho in all the right places… and we cannot wait to share it with you! Photographer Lauren Nicole was there to capture each and every moment. The Start to a Perfect Day

We asked the couple where their inspiration came from for their perfect day. Bride Teresa gave us all the details!
“Living in New Jersey, we chose a destination wedding on San Juan Island, Washington because we fell in love with the PNW from previous travels and wanted the perfect reason to host an intimate wedding with our closest friends & family. We cared a lot about our guests and wanted their experience to be an adventure. From our first dance song, to hand selecting our dessert spread over having just one wedding cake, to organizing a bridal party dance, and featuring our dog in the invitation suite & day of signage and as our ring bearer! We found opportunities to create meaningful moments and choices that uniquely represented us as a couple.”
Teresa’s gorgeous wedding gown is from New York based designer Jenny Yoo. Teresa shared how she (quickly!) found her perfect dress:
“I have always been drawn to the bohemian and soft glam looks of BHLDN and simple yet romantic and stunning looks of Jenny Yoo. My Haven dress which was a Bhldn x Jenny Yoo dress was the perfect combination of effortless and chic. My bridesmaids and friends said it was the perfect extension of me.”

Looking gorgeous! These neutral colored bridesmaid dresses are all from BHLDN.
The groom is looking snazzy in his suit from the made-to-measure apparel company, Indochino!
The Reception
Obsessing over this neutral color palette with pops of terracotta and deep green to again, pull in that PNW feel!
The couple brought in local Seattle and Island vendors to really pull in the elements and showcase local talent. The end result is to die for!
When there’s an entire dessert table…it can be hard to choose! The couple brought in Hello Robin Cookies (all the way from Seattle!), San Juan Bakery items, and baked goods by woman-owned bakery Seatown Sweets for their guests to treat themselves!
So hard to choose! Most memorable moment was reading personal vows to each other during the ceremony. Most fun moment was the choreographed bridal party dance to "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars we did for our reception entrance.
Cheers to the bride and groom! The cocktail hour featuring local Rachel’s Ginger Beer for Moscow mules was a major hit!
A mobile photo booth in an old school VW bus?! Count us in!
Celebrating in Style
Did someone say dance break?! T + D were graced with opening acts by the wedding party (both groom and bride’s side)! Also loving how the entire party got the memo for matching bridal sunnies. So epic!
Plan ahead!! Any planning you can do in advance will reduce the amount of stress in the weeks leading up to the wedding and allow you to be more fully present. Find a trusty wedding planner to help you through the process. Make choices that feel true to you & your partner - there's no one way that a wedding should go regardless of what society or those around you might dictate.
