Today we are sharing a fun decor piece you can use at your wedding or at home – a geometric runner for your tables! We love how easy it is to make, but also how fully customizable this one is. So many color choices and patterns to make this one really yours! Thanks so much to Michelle Edgemont for sharing this one – let’s see how she did it.
Step 1: Lay the runner out on a protected surface. These look best when only the center section of the runner is painted. Be sure to center your runner on your painting surface. Start taping out your geometric design. Overlap long pieces of tape at a variety of angles to create triangles to paint. Use smaller pieces of tape to create smaller triangles within the large ones.
Step 2: Start with one color of paint. Squirt the paint directly onto the runner in the sections you want to be that color. Spread the sections evenly around the runner to try to not have any two shapes of the same color touching.
Step 3: Paint in the shapes, staying within the tape lines. Repeat the process with the rest of the colors of paint. Let dry.
Step 4: Peel off the tape to reveal the geometric design.
These runners are so cool and colorful that they won’t need a lot of centerpiece decor. I recommend using all white candles or bud vases of all white flowers. Let your handiwork really shine!
Super rad! If you make your own geometric runner, we’d love to see how it turns out, so please share on Instagram along with the hashtag #GreenWeddingShoesDIY
