What’s in a name? Oh, only the sweetest, most meant-to-be love story between today’s super stylish couple, Jemma + Red! When we asked J + R what inspired them most during the planning process they simply said—each other! Lustre Events was an integral part in bringing the design to life, and offered a little insight into the sweet meaning behind the vivid red colors of the day:
Jemma + Red came to us wanting something unique, romantic, and rustic yet modern with shades of wine and berry. The groom’s name is (literally) Red, they share the ruby birthstone, and Jemma often goes by “Jem,” so the colors that have a lot of meaning! Red also sent Jemma red roses at work on a regular basis while they were dating. Clearly, this wedding design was just meant to be!
There to photograph the red-letter day, Amos Photography captured the sweet love between J + R every step of the way!

The Ceremony
How totally breathtaking is this lush ceremony arch by Patchouli Design?! Red foliage, big blooms, and little touches of gold—this is such a fresh take on autumn!
We decided not to do a first look and were pretty firm about it. We felt it had more meaning for Red to not see me until I walked down the aisle.

Lustre Events dreamt up this romantic first impression—custom wood shelves by Tufts & Toile, built to display the gorgeous cloches with guests seating assignments. OBSESSED!
Cabin Calligraphy‘s lovely hand lettering sealed the romantic deal!

Tufts & Toile also supplied a lovely lounge area for guests to rest their feet during dancing.

The reception took place inside a restored barn at Earth to Table: The Farm in Ontario. Lustre Events found an inspiring canvas in the high ceilings, chandeliers, and overall grandeur of the space!
We really wanted it to feel grown-in from the outdoors. The barn has beautiful rafters and beams that were covered in intentional and interesting foliage. The tall seasonal arrangements on the tables helped fill in the height in the room and create a warmer, more intimate feeling. Finally, to fill in the long natural harvest tables with a modern detail, we scattered smaller sculptural Ikebana style arrangements.
So much to love here! Simply Beautiful Decor provided tablewares, which were topped with velvet napkins and a mini cloche place card. How sweet!
