From asymmetrical hanging florals to the sultry and moody color palette and the groom’s gorgeous floral suit jacket—today’s wedding, coming to us from Union/Pine in Portland, is serious holiday MAGIC. Everything about the day was cozy and warm, and candles were abundant in the greenery-lined aisle. The ceremony space took on a cool, PNW forest feeling…and it’s one that we totally want to recreate.
Meet Emily + Jordan, the lovely couple behind it all! The groom was a singer in a band for years and has a very unique style…which you’ll see below! Playing up this aspect, everything was customized with keyboard cufflinks + even a microphone pin. Jordan also gave each groomsman a small customized pin—his friend who is a tailor received scissors. (So sweet!)
Alixann Loosle Photography captured all the details—prepare yourself, they’re swoon-worthy!!
The Seriously Stylish Outfits
What a GOWN!! The soft rose hue of the Oleg Cassini dress complemented the groom’s floral suit jacket perfectly, and we can’t get over those shimmering embellishments.
How cool is this ensemble?!
The suit jacket was made by Machete & Sons out of Denver. The vest, pants, and tie were actually made by one of Jordan’s best men, Janson Fangio, who is an incredibly talented tailor based in LA.

The Ceremony Space
Hanging asymmetrical florals by Good Seed Floral, an aisle lined in greenery, mismatched chairs, AND industrial lights?! Oh, this ceremony space is definitely wins in our book.
Seriously, how incredible is this with all the cascading greenery?! And that subtle play of the heart shape? Too cute!
Processional: St. Elmo's Fire by John Parr; Bride: Never Enough by Loren Allred from the Greatest Showman
Recessional: You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall & John Oates
First Dance: Baby, I Love Your Way by Big Mountain
During the ceremony, the rings were placed in a small bag and passed around to guests to hold and give their mental good-thoughts and blessings to. For vows, the bride and groom performed rock, paper, scissors to see who would read first. The groom lost after about 10 ties!
The Newlyweds
Emily had a handkerchief (her something blue) sewn into her dress that she kept her grandmother’s lucky $2 bill in. So sweet!
Emily shares: Be thoughtful and really discerning when picking your photographer! It’s likely the most lasting memories you’ll have from that day, so make sure you find someone whose work you like, whose style and aesthetic are similar to what you want and it doesn’t hurt if they’re super cool like Alixann Loosle.
Emily tells us a bit more about the inspiration behind the design: Many of the ideas I saved were of Good Seed Floral’s work. When I met with them to get the planning started we talked about wanting it to look like our guests had stumbled into a secret garden in Downtown Portland. We made the wedding about the two of us by having a small guest list that was full of people we would want to spend any Saturday with, not just a special occasion.
Take everybody's advice with not a grain, but a block of salt. The day is about the two of you, what you love and what you want to share with your community. All the little details and stresses will work themselves out, or they won't and that will be okay, too. In the end, the goal of the day is to get married, if at the end of the day that happened—you nailed it!
The Industrial + Greenery-Filled Reception
Those lights, the walls covered in greenery, the line of candles + the moody hues on the tablescape…what’s not to love?!

Semi-naked with a gold drip—hello super cute custom cake from Dream Cakes Portland.
Jordan: Playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who said their vows first.
Emily: Having Jordan and his band, The Black Flash, perform and sing the most perfect song for the day.
Magic, pure magic. We hope you two always celebrate your love like this + dance the night away. Congrats!!
