This couple went ALL out for their big day…or big weekend, we should say! Sara and Jacob decided to have a family-only ceremony a few days before their three-day music festival, called “Coopfest”! Sara is the owner of OneLove Photography (who we’ve featured quite a few times here on GWS!) and was gracious enough to want to share her wedding with us first! The theme was floral, bold and playful. One thing you should know about Sara is she’s a BIG-time prankster, so of course, one of their celebration days was on April Fool’s!
“We pranked all of our guests with a welcome bag with a note that we’d be flying everyone on a helicopter to a new location for our event… on a yacht! NOPE. Fooled ya!! Haha! Everyone was living in suspense all night for when the next prank was going to drop – it was cracking Sara up to keep everyone nervous all day.”
This is possibly one of the most unique wedding celebrations we’ve seen… (cue the music festival, donkey appearance, and fun filled pinata!!) …and we just know you guys are going to love it. Let’s take a look at this couple’s exciting wedding weekend captured by photographer Katch Silva!
CoopFest 2022

Guests were greeted with the cutest custom totes filled with all the music festival essentials! Water, candy, a “festival” itinerary…and a hangover kit! How cute!
“Instead of a basic Welcome Bag with a Schedule Of Events, we designed a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ program for the weekend with a myriad of activities to experience in Petaluma.”

This handcrafted bridal gown was custom made by Rebecca Schoneveld and looks absolutely beautiful!

The bride’s flower petal shoes from Diane Hassal were custom designed with Diane, the designer herself!

Saying ‘I Do’

The most beautiful ceremony full of gorgeous florals by Mae’s Flowers Sonoma!

Sara loves playful and wild fashion and wore several incredible dresses throughout the weekend – two were even custom designs! Just wait until you see the last one of the night which is a fusion between a mermaid and flamenco dancer… so wild!
Jacob had all of his outfits custom tailored by Al at Al’s Attire. Fun fact: Al grew up in the Mission District with Carlos Santana, and tailors Santana’s outfits….very cool with the musical theme coming through even in the couple’s outfits!
Let the Festival Begin!

The start of a great weekend is about to commence! Guests had a fun set of rules to follow and a great lineup of music!

Personally, we are big fans of rule #2!

“We both are passionate about music, and love creating interactive experiences for our friends. We love playing games with our friends, hosting sushi parties, and Iron Chef cooking competitions. So, for our big wedding weekend, we knew that we wanted to keep our event far from traditional. No bridesmaids or groomsmen, just dancing and having fun with our friends.”

We love all the personal touches Sara and Jacob sprinkled throughout! Like these fun custom temporary tattoos by Lili Mandril!

“We surprised all of our guests with a music festival in Petaluma! We told our guests to come and be ready for surprise appearances from a number of bands all day – from 12pm-1am!”

The couple are huge animal lovers, so they chose a venue which is a non-profit dedicated to improving children’s lives through their interaction with animals and nature. They even brought in a sweet donkey to join the party and celebrate during the event, carrying a basket of champagne to share with their guests.

The couple told guests to “Bring the razzle-dazzle” and dress in colorful and wild attire! We love a creative guest attire request!
The Colorful Celebration

The cutest cocktail napkins with fun facts about the couple is a fun personal touch!

“We curated the food to be similar to a music festival with food stations. We love food and beverage pairings so we’ve paired every bite with a suggested drink to maximize the experience.” So creative!

An Outfit Change! …Think Pink!

We said there’d be color! The second custom dress the bride rocked was custom made by Rebecca Bunker which she paired with the cutest ‘wifey’ hair pin by Stella and Ruby!

Let There Be Cake

One of our favorite memories from Coopfest was cracking open the GIANT cake-shaped piñata in front of our friends. Who needs a cake cutting these days? Bor-ing!! I filled the pinata with $2 bills and lotto tickets. Everyone went nuts.

“One of our guests said ‘Sara, I feel like your brain exploded and we’re all living inside of it! This is SO FUN!!!'”

“We hid each band in different locations of the property, and after one band finished playing, a door would open to surprise our guests with a new band playing in another location! This seamless timing of musical transitions was genius management from Brianna and the team at Reed and James Events. High Fives!”

Thinking of looking ‘pretty in pink’ on your wedding day? We’ve rounded up our favorite blush wedding dresses!

“One of Sara’s close friends is the lead singer for a well known 80’s cover band called Tainted Love so we knew we had to have them play for us among other bands. Each band we hired is a part of our story (we love Chicago, so we hired a band that we met in SF that specializes in Chicago Blues; our favorite local bar in SJ has one of the best R&B and hip hop bands in the Bay, Alliance, who will be playing for us as well).”

Just when we thought the couple was out of surprises…they brought out a fire dancer for all their guests!
