We love that there are so many different ways to style a rustic wedding, don’t you? For Jessica + Brandon, “rustic” meant handmade, country-inspired touches and just the right amount of bohemian flair. The gals rocked boots (and super fun mismatched yellow or lace frocks), Jess looked rustic-glam with her worn leather belt paired with an amaze statement necklace, and the details infused throughout the setting were just so good. Union Hill Inn in Sonora, California provided the perfect backdrop for the day + gave the setting a quintessential Cali feel that we know + love so well. Jessica tells us a bit more about her + Brandon’s inspiration below:
My inspiration for the day was rustic, boho, and country to begin with. We really wanted to have a wedding that was romantic, personal and fun. I always like the small details, so when it came to planning the wedding, I put most of my energy into that. I went to antique fairs, vintage furniture stores, craigslist and hours of putting my poor husband to work making chalk board signs, lawn games and doing all the writing. We made almost everything ourselves for the wedding, and most of the furniture came from our home.
Thanks so much to Danielle Poff Photography for the super lovely images + congrats to J + B on a beautiful day!
We love the floral invitations Jessica + Brandon went with! Those pretties are available in the GWS shop, along with lots of other lovely invites!
Jess + her ‘maids chose casual, country-inspired attire and we seriously adore their laid-back looks! Shop their outfits – and our fave finds from J+B’s wedding day – below:
These shots of the soon-to-be-newlyweds are the coolest and we can’t stop staring at J’s giant succulent bouquet.

Recessional: Everything – Lifehouse
First Dance: Fade Into You – Sam Palladio + Clare Bowen
Such fun tablescapes, put together by Jessica + Brandon!
My most memorable moment of the day was jumping into the pool with my husband and friends. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day!
My advice for those planning a wedding would be to have plenty of time and patience, also I would say to have a good idea of what your vision for the day is and do your best to stick with it. There are a lot of great venders on etsy that we used and even more great tutorials online to make your vision possible.
