Ultimate Party Vibes for this Colorful Wedding Full of Dazzling Disco Details

Natalie + Mitch went from swiping right to saying “I do!” and we can’t get enough of their vibrant, contemporary Toronto, Canada wedding.

“We met on Hinge only one week after the Covid Lockdown in March 2020,” the couple remembers. “Our first 7 dates were purely FaceTime dates where we did virtual games and activities, before finally meeting up for an in-person walk date—everything was locked down! We moved in together after a year of dating and have been together ever since!”

They gathered friends + fam at The Symes—a historic building turned warehouse event space—and packed the eclectic venue with vivid floral arrangements and, with the planning help of Lauren Medeiros at Blush + Bowties, created a modern celebration full of meaningful moments.

“Natalie + Mitch’s wedding was easily the most colourful, fun wedding I’ve ever witnessed,” says photographer Inna Yasinska. “The pure artistry of the florals, the creativity of the disco dance floor, and all the little details like the gelato bar, live band, and hot pink bridal party outfits made this wedding extremely unique and special.”

“We really wanted the day to just be a fun party for everyone,” Natalie + Mitch say. “The disco balls and bright colours were what came to mind for us when we thought of ‘the ultimate party vibes.’ It was really important for us that the decor and music and food felt joyful and fun.”

First of all: these beautiful bright pink bridesmaid dresses 💕 The bold bridal party palette set the tone for the rest of the day’s color scheme.

“I probably only tried on around 6 or 7 dresses before I tried on the one I chose,” says Natalie of this beaded stunner of a wedding gown from Rachel Rose. “I went with my mom and sister to Sash + Bustle and had a fun time trying on different styles of dresses and honestly didn’t think I wanted something beaded or fitted until I tried my dress on.”

“I went into the appointment convinced I wanted something more plain, but ultimately was so happy I went with the beaded dress that I did! The sparkly beads went well with the disco balls!”

Jen Evoy Makeup Studio created Natalie’s subtly rosy neutral glam bridal makeup look.

The Ceremony

Officiant Martin Frith oversaw the couple’s “I do’s.”

“One special moment that happened during the ceremony was how Natalie and Mitch asked their bridal party to do a ring warming before exchanging rings,” recalls photographer Inna. “They huddled together in the middle of the aisle and blessed their rings.”

The Reception

Not only was Sole Power in charge of these dazzling disco balls, they also saw to all of the celebration’s music, lighting + production needs.

Pink Peony Press created these playful powder pink + iridescent menus that detailed the delicious feast that The Food Dudes served Natalie + Mitch’s guests.

Simply Beautiful Decor supplied the colorful contemporary reception setup with its tabletop decor, furniture, and linens.

Our Favorite Memory
Just after the ceremony was over, we got to share a moment where we tried out the appetizers and had a couple espresso martinis just the two of us, and took 20 minutes to just revel in the fact that we're actually married. That was when we also got to see the reception space for the first time which was such a fun and beautiful surprise! 

 “The floral towers were a carefully curated mix of colours and were the true focal point of the day,” says photographer Inna. We love that Natalie + Mitch repurposed them as sweetheart table decor at the reception! One of our fave eco-friendly wedding ideas.

“All of our vendors absolutely made the day,” Natalie + Mitch say. “Everything came together so perfectly thanks to all of them!”

Olivia Yang Cake Studio created this glorious two tone pink vintage iced heart shaped wedding cake.

Our Advice
From the bride: "Have fun with it! Wedding planning is a time in your life that goes by so quickly. I also recommend going with what feels right to you, despite super colourful weddings being less traditional, I always knew the bright decor and bright flowers aligned with my style and vision for the day. You don't need to have an all white wedding if it doesn't suit you!"
