The holiday season is officially in full swing and you know what that means – party time! A lot of us can struggle with finding the perfect theme that brings magic and whimsy to our children’s lives while also remaining fun and engaging for adults. Enter the nutcracker Christmas party! This colorful, magical event was inspired by Glitterville’s Colonel Cupcake – a fun and festive nutcracker that breathes life into the holiday season year after year.
The design team behind House of Fete truly took this nutcracker Christmas party to the next level. They consider it their own little “rainbow nutcracker oasis”! Sarah Eichstedt Photography was the perfect person to bring every magical hue to life for this event. This is the perfect party to recreate for your friends and little ones this year! Keep reading, and we’ll show you how it’s done.
A Nutcracker Christmas Party of Whimsy and Fun
We’re no strangers to hosting great parties, but this is on another level! This colorful event had “nutcracker” written all over it, right down to the invitations. Not only is the rainbow theme to die for, but the invites by Cami Monet also included a design of the two acts of The Nutcracker ballet. Such a clever touch!
One of our favorite elements of this nutcracker Christmas party is the vintage dresser. It was the perfect vessel for creating an explosion of color! The delicately worn areas where white paint once was instantly transported us back to our childhood bedrooms.
There’s arguably no better way to set your table than in rainbow order. With the addition of a hand-painted cookie on each plate setting, the kids will be happy for hours!
Let’s talk about the macarons for a sec, shall we? Soiree Macarons created some of the most vibrant and beautiful treats we’ve ever seen! Not only the pink tiered one pictured here, but you’ll get to see a glimpse of life-sized ones as well!
Rainbow Winter Wonderland
No nutcracker Christmas party would be complete without a gingerbread house! This beautiful edible wonderland was adorned with colorful shingles, a gumdrop lawn, and candy cane pillars for the front porch.
A Papa Noel pitcher was perfect for serving up hot cocoa and melty marshmallows. Looking for fun Christmas mugs? Check out our roundup of 31 Christmas Mugs for the Season!
When Kids Take the Stage
One very important thing had to be included in this nutcracker Christmas party. A stage! It’s the perfect place for little boys and girls to dress up in their favorite costumes and sing and dance the night away. Colorful little tutus did the trick to fit right in with this eclectic theme. Velvet curtains and a Christmas tree backdrop instantly transport the kiddos (and adults!) to the winter wonderland we’ve all dreamt of.
And you know we can’t resist giving a little love to a good flower arrangement! Apis Floral crafted a lively and sweet arrangement filled with purples and pinks that complemented its surroundings with ease.
Land of Sweets
Round out the sticky-sweet vibes of this nutcracker Christmas party with a dessert table! Candied apples, cakes, and bonbons will make every child feel giddy. And as promised, this one included fabulous life-size macarons!
Don’t be scared to venture away from the typical idea of a Christmas tree display. These gold-wired trees framed with an ornament garland (and some disco balls and unicorns, of course) are every bit as festive as traditional decor.
And here comes Colonel Cupcake himself! The man of the hour! This spectacular cake by The Sugar Bug ties the entire nutcracker Christmas party theme into a neat little bow. It’s such a stunner!
A Nutcracker Christmas Party For Adults to Enjoy
The kiddos may be the primary party to please, but that doesn’t mean the adults don’t get to be included in the fun! Some festive holiday cocktails and a little imagination will do just the trick to make you feel like a kid again, too.
There you have it! Every insider tip to make hosting a nutcracker Christmas party a breeze. Thanks again to House of Fete for designing and sharing this extravaganza with GWS! If you’re looking for even more holiday party inspiration, we’ve got some ideas!
