Mariah + Gal have a long-distance love that keeps them on their toes (and constantly on flights between the US + South Africa)! To celebrate their time being together, they decided to book a fun + colorful love session with photographer, Caitlin of CJK Visuals in Cape Town’s beautiful Bo Kaap area.
Caitlin shares, It was the morning after we landed in Cape Town, after 24 hours of travel and just a few confusing hours of sleep, when Gal and Mariah met us at our sunny Air BnB for hair and makeup prep. After chatting with this amazing long-distance couple, we headed down to Bo Kaap, an absolutely mind blowingly awesome part of the city, known for its bright, colorful homes and cobblestone streets! It was the hottest, brightest morning EVER, but these two still look incredible and made the session so easy and fun. I cannot wait to get back to South Africa and photograph in more stunning areas around South Africa again!
Loving Mariah’s beautiful hair + makeup, provided by Halie Kellagher + Mika Lamb. That red lip is just so good!
The colorful, vibrant vibe of the streets was a perfect fit for this gorgeous, youthful couple!
Let’s close with a little bit of advice from CJK Visuals for making your engagement, anniversary or love session the best it can be! She says, We knew Bo Kaap, a crazy, unique setting, would be the perfect spot for such a fun couple. Setting is so important when it comes to couple’s portraits, whether it’s an anniversary, engagement, or just-because. It’s best to pick a spot, not because it’s pretty or popular, but because it represents you as a couple! Whether it’s sentimental or symbolic of your relationship, go for the spot that will bring even more life into your session!
