I have such an amazing wedding to share with you lovelies today! In fact, it’s so good we had to break it into two parts! Janet + Jon’s ridiculously rad dieselpunk-cowboy-meets-unicorn-princess wedding, captured by Kelly Braman Photography, was as unique + beautiful as they come! Filled with color, glitter and tons of unforgettable details, every single planning decision this couple made, with the help of Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events, was greatly influenced by their relationship together + the things they love most. Here’s more from the groom about the day:
We crafted our wedding into a celebration of our lives together in both practical and fantastical and imaginative terms. This involved a sincere performance of ourselves as a dieselpunk cowboy and unicorn princess. These identities are true to life and also metaphorical for us and our relationship. As artists, our inspirations originated from those fact and ideas. We also brought together cross-cultural influences from the Taipei/Taiwanese + Kentuckian/American Southern traditions in as many aspects as possible…
Seriously guys, this dress (a Wtoo dress, altered by Renee Austin Wedding) is so, so awesome + seems like a perfect fit for Janet’s fun personality!
Guests were given ‘Unicorn Fart’ flavored lip gloss (a combination between cotton candy + peppermint) from Long Winter Farms.
And I just love, love the playful ceremony space decorated with bright blooms + rainbow streamers!
Processional: Sweet Child of Mine – Guns and Roses
Recessional: Beautiful Baby – Bing Crosby
First Dance: At Last – Etta James

Thank you for the feature, Jen! It’s so wonderful to see a wedding like this shown off :) Xoxo
I follow Rhi on IG and saw this wedding come to life, photo by photo, and while it is NOT my style at all, it’s one of the most unique and creative weddings I have ever soon. Good Job, Rhi on a beautiful wedding!
What a brilliant wedding! This is fantastic to see a couple truly add their personalities into the wedding in a big way! Love that customized wtoo gown!
I love how refreshingly different this wedding is. In a wedding world of blush, burlap, and pretty, this wedding is FUN. And colorful. And it’s so apparent that it represents the personalities of the bride and groom. Loved it!
I too followed the details and planning on Rhi’s IG and blog and loved every minute! The pops of color are so fun and the florals insanely beautiful… love love love!
I followed Rhi’s instagrams in preparation for this wedding and knew I would love it. SO unique, full of personality, and how can you not love glitter + unicorns!? Congrats to the couple and fab work, Rhi!
Groom’s style is amazing. Where is the leather harness from? No mention of groom’s attire in listings!
Charlotte! If you’d like details I can get them for you :)
The first wedding ever in which a cowboy dressed groom marries in a modern looking, lavish arrangement to an Asian girl!
I’m blown away by such a beautiful and creative wedding! OH MY GOSH I’d be in heaven if I was able to photograph such a fabulous celebration! And anyone who features unicorns at their wedding is seriously cool.
