Although we feel pretty lucky to get to share amazing weddings from all over the US + world, it’s not every day we get to share a celebration from beautiful Goa, India, so we’re kiiinda excited about this morning’s feature. Narina + Tarek are from Lebanon, but decided to exchange their vows at Nilaya Hermitage Resort. And as you’re about to see, their magical ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect + their colorful reception – filled with lots of lovely decorative touches – was pretty much bursting with personality.
The couple shares, Since we decided to get people all the way to Goa, India, we thought it would only make sense to incorporate the beautiful and vibrant colors of this country somehow into our wedding. We didn’t want to go 100% Indian, but rather put a twist on it – so we decided to do it Indian Kitsch. Making it a destination wedding was great, because we knew that we could invite only the closest people to us – basically those who mattered and to who would make the effort of traveling all the way to India because we mattered.
Thanks so much to Cherry On Top Events for a job well done with the event design, planning and florals + to A Fist Full of Bolts for the stunning photos! And if goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway: congrats to Narina + Tarek on a truly unique + beautiful day!
Narina’s gold two-piece wedding dress by Tarun Tahiliani is just too gorgeous!
Def the ceremony. There was just this magical aura encompassing everyone and everything. The sun as it was setting with its warm rays, the Hindu chanting that was so hypnotic and the faces of people closest to our hearts. There was so much positive energy - it was surreal.
We love all the little decorative touches!
And the winding table + colorful tablescape gave the reception a one-of-a-kind feel!
Make sure you choose wedding planners that you trust so that you let them do their job and you just sit there and relax. It made the process so much more enjoyable for us!
If you are doing a destination wedding, make sure you take all the precautions not to get sick. Think of masks for the airport and a mini pharmacy kit for the road. I got sick and it lasted through my entire wedding week.
