Do you dream of Italy? What about all things bohemian-inspired? Perhaps even a dash of classic styling, with a touch of whimsy? Gia + Alex, avid Shakespeare lovers, knew that they would tie the knot in Verona ever since their love story began to unfold…
The most important part to them, was their ceremony—which had a medieval tower dating from the 9th century as a backdrop! Ema Giangreco helped them bring all their dreamy ideas to life at Agriturismo Delo Relais. Gia shares: For us, the most important element was having an intimate celebration, with the ultimate focus on the actual act of getting married, and less about anything else that comes with having a larger wedding. We are both avid readers, so choosing our elopement location played a big part in all the other decisions we’ve made. Both Shakespeare fans, we chose Verona, the city of love, as our location, and we are beyond please we did so.
Want to be whisked away to Italy? (We sure do!) Let’s take the grand tour in the photos captured by Carmen Santorelli Photography:
The Details
Finding our venue took a little research, because we wanted an intimate, family-run B&B, and Agriturismo Delo was exactly what we were hoping for, and more. They have a medieval tower on property that’s been preserved from the 9th century, and that was the dream backdrop for our ceremony—the most important part of our day. The team that helped bring our vision to life was the best we could’ve possibly found, and our memories will last a lifetime.
To complement the scenery, Pretty Flowers crafted this textured-filled bouquet with tons of greenery + creamy white florals.
Talk about hair GOALS! Tatiana Makeup crafted a Shakespeare-worthy do, and quite frankly, we can’t stop staring.
The Ceremony
Look at that hoop backdrop against the old tower! Such a fun way to bring in modern elements + texture, while letting the setting shine.

Definitely the ceremony. The sound of the harp alongside the nature sounds of the cicadas (typical in Italy), the nice breeze coming through the vineyards and the beautiful view of Verona will remain engraved in our memory forever.
Processional: Wedding March by F. Mendelsson Bartholdy
Recessional: Fratello Sole e Sorella Luna by Benjamin R. Ortolani
First Dance: Didn’t have a formal one, we just danced informally all night long
The Newlyweds
Um, her Atelier Zolotas dress…hellllooo! We love how the bodice picks up the macramĂ© accents from MossHound Designs seen throughout the day.

Just follow your heart’s desires and invest in the elements important to you…since you’re inviting a limited number of guests you’ll have the funds to hire an amazing team of vendors that will make your day beyond your expectations.
The Reception for Sweethearts
For the tablescape, everything was organic + fresh. Isn’t this divine with the incorporation of pears + berries, plus all the green candles + wood accents?
Holy smokes. Adding Verona to our list, PRONTO! Congratulations, Gia + Alex!!
