Are you consumed by endless wanderlust? Do you dream of the desert — warm days dancing in the sunshine and once night hits, frolicking under the starry sky? Do you love all things whimsical, romantic, and feminine? If you’re nodding your head away, have we got a treat for you! One of our FAVE designers, Claire Pettibone, who’s known for creating dresses that are pure works of art (and a bit sultry!), recently unleashed her latest collection: Vagabond. A blending of cultures and traditions, the gowns are for those who love deeply and always dream of adventure.
Photographer This Modern Romance teamed up with creative director, Catalyst Creative Society, and stylist, Type A Society, at a private residence in Venice, California (look up Philip Dixon — it’s the desert house of our DREAMS!), to bring these Claire Pettibone dresses to life. With darling details, floral embellishments and pops of color, we’re absolutely enchanted.
Ready to see why?
Designed with the bohemian bride in mind, fabrics were layered and combined in unexpected ways. How stunning is that sheer nude tulle with lace accents of the Sahara Gown?
Ooh la LOVE! Meet the Voyage Gown; it’s sultry, it’s daring, it’s feminine, it’s enchanting. Did we cover all the bases? Oh, and we adore that illusion lace is used on the shoulders and neckline, so the dress will stay put!
And then there was the Santorini Gown, covered in pretty pastel petals… Beauty is truly in the details on this one, with all the delicate beading that blossoms on the bodice!
Playing up the exotic and desert-inspired designs, the team brought in Erica Elizabeth Designs hairpieces to complement the looks. Major props to makeup artist, Halcyon Agency, for playing up the models’ natural beauty + Hair by Missy for creating mermaid-esque waves for days!
Replete with magenta and turquoise florals, the Shangri-La Gown is fit for a queen, don’t you think?! With multi-colored embroidery, layered over gold lace, this dress is every part enchanting as it is mystical.
Bringing it back to the neutral tones of the desert, the Seychelles dress plays up how gorgeous white lace is over nude slips. P.S. That’s a feather design throughout the lace!
Rachel of Siren Floral Co. took all the cool neutral tones of the “oasis” property in Venice, along with the desert voyage theme, and created pure magic with florals. Pops of peach and white, with major texture created striking bouquets that paired perfectly with the dresses.
French embroidery. Floral embroidered tulle. A plunging neckline. We’re absolutely dazzled by the Gypsy Rose Gown! Aren’t you?
Because naturally, when you’ve got gowns as glamorous as these ones, you’ve got to rock mesmerizing kicks, like these BellaBelle Shoes!
Imagine if lace and water were one.. that’s kind of the impression we get from this Horizon Gown! It’s graceful, it’s smooth, and it features hints of blue and gray! It captures that feeling of when you look out over the ocean and a sense of peace washes over you…
What desert oasis would be complete without a proper tablescape? The design: highlight the neutral tones, with little hints of ocean blue and tons of natural texture. Paper goods were brought in from The Idea Emporium, to give everything that added touch of elegance.
Oh-so sultry, oh-so cool. Which Claire Pettibone style is your favorite?! We’d love to hear in the comments below!
A huge thank you to Kate at BLK PR for sending this one over, and be sure to check out the video below by Anna Lord!
