Lots Of Lovely Color For This Chic, Rainbow-Inspired 40th Birthday Party

“I’m forty, and darn it I’m freaking fierce.”

We all need to take a cue from Bay Area-based planner and event designer Marissa of House of Fete, cause sometimes you just gotta celebrate yourself!! “I wasn’t really prepared to have a party,” Marissa says, “but I said: ‘You know what Marissa? This is a huge milestone.’ I needed to celebrate it.”

Marissa went all out for her 40th with this rainbow birthday celebration at The River Bottom Ranch. The festivities centered around a delicious feast of Marissa’s fave foods at a breathtakingly decorated outdoor banquet table, but that wasn’t all. There was a champagne wall with colored glassware guest favors. There was an adorable lounge area. And there were tons of disco balls to amp up the festive rainbow flair!!

Marissa snagged sets of the Anthropologie’s “Briar” dinnerware collection in five different shades to create these color-blocked place settings.

Emerald Grace Floral Design worked all kinds of magic to build this lush, rainbow floral table runner.

The party’s meal, catered by Southern Hospitality Company, was a tasty parade of some of Marissa’s favorite foods like chicken and waffles and short ribs!

Marissa and her husband made the rainbow “Forty and Fierce” backdrop that anchored the colorful theme of the gathering out of shiplap and sample-size cans of paint! And Stockroom Picks outfitted this lounge area with cozy vintage furniture and throw pillows in every shade!
