Chic and Moody Wedding on a Snowy Mountaintop

Winter Mountaintop Distillery Wedding

They married on a mountaintop, beneath the final moments of sun as it dipped below the peaks. There, surrounded by family and friends all wrapped in blankets and sipping on cocoa, Joe and Jordan stated their vows. *Swoon!* Can’t you just feel the romance already?! These two brought every element of themselves into the day, landing on a chic moody vibe that is honestly stunning.

Rachael Ellen, the wedding planner, was totally on board: The inspiration for the day was a mix of everything Joe and Jordan. Their deep love and wild spirit shined through and was the main focus in every detail. So from a design end, we wanted to create something that was very rocker and boho inspired but with a moody edge. This wasn’t your average flower crown wedding. It was a dream to create for them!

And who else to call when you’re looking for “moody and wild” than photographer, India Earl! Are you guys ready for this??

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Jordan: We decided not do a first look because we wanted the first time we saw each other to be magical and special. So, my favorite moment hands down was getting butterflies before my dad walked me down the aisle (also having that precious moment with my father) and the moment I saw Joe, looking so handsome. I instantly locked eyes with his. He took away all my nerves and made me feel like it was just us. I felt so, so close to him and God on that mountain top and it’s a moment that I will cherish forever.

Joe: I agree with Jordan. The moment I saw her walking up to me, beautiful and angelic, is a memory that I will never forget.

Jordan says: I just envisioned “magic” on top of a snowy mountain with our closest friends and family by our side. I wanted everything candlelit with a comfortable, edgy, cool feel.

Rachael certainly brought magic into the design element! She decked out the ceremony spot with vintage rugs, lanterns and a custom-made wooden cross adorned with vines and flowers.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Just have fun and enjoy every minute of it! It goes by so fast. People won’t remember if your flower arrangements were perfect or if the tablecloths were the right color. They’re going to remember the love in the room and the memories that are made that day! Things will go wrong so just relax and roll with. You’re marrying your best friend and that’s what it’s all about!

After the ceremony, J + J with their 60 guests partied the night away inside the historic and beautiful High West Distillery.

Let’s break down the moody reception design! First, dark velvet linens from La Tavola and silk runners from Tono & Co. covered the tables. Taper candles in antique brass holders, wood + brass bowls filled with seasonal fruits, hanging Edison bulbs and chandeliers from Moonlight Lighting set the tone. Finally, handmade paper signage, tambourines for dancing, vintage rugs, floor pillows, and a henna station reflected J + J’s refined yet wild style.
