Dress, bouquet + floral arrangements, caterers, cake, DJ, event coordinator, photographer… You’ve made the list, checked it twice, and now you’re in search of the perfect vendors that understand your style and overall aesthetic. It’s tough work getting married, right?! We’re all too familiar with this game of checks and balances, and making sure everything stays within budget, so we’re here to help you — with our handy-dandy planning guide!

Wedding planning doesn’t need to be that stressful, so long as you give yourself time to breathe, time for returns (they happen!), time for things to ship, and time to order new things if something doesn’t arrive/isn’t what you expected. And for those using PayPal it’s a breeze! No need to fret about online security, or the ‘what ifs‘ involved with returns; plus it’s conveniently available from your phone or laptop. Yup, the wedding planning game just got a whole lot easier.

So, let’s get crankin’ on checking off your to-do list!

Step One: discuss with your love what the vision for the day is. Scroll through your Pinterest boards, talk about the things you both like, and get an overall idea for what kind of feeling you want for your big day. Perhaps you want a giant celebration with all your friends + extended family, or maybe the two of you want something more intimate and quiet. Maybe you’re even planning on a destination elopement? So many choices!!

Step Two: talk about the budget. Some of the best advice we’ve heard over the years is talk about the overall feeling, figure out what things are the most important to you + your love, and then you can pair it down from there to make sure everything fits your budget.

Step Three: find a rockstar photographer! The schedule of a wedding photographer can be booked pretty solid, so once you’ve set the date + location, find the photog that fits your style + make it happen! Tip from us married gals: consider hiring a videographer, too, if you can afford it. You won’t regret watching your video film years later with your kids and showing them your wedding day. :)

Step Four: if you can hire a day-of coordinator — DO THAT! This is one of the things so many GWS brides have noted and encourage everyone else to do. A day-of coordinator will make sure that all your hard work is pulled together seamlessly — that all the vendors get to the right location with all the necessary amenities available — and ensure that your vision comes to fruition… Which allows you to be present on the big day and live in the moment! Also, tipping is always optional, but if you want to treat your vendors – especially your day-of coordinator – make it easy and PayPal them! You won’t have to worry about writing checks, stuffing envelopes or doling them out on your wedding day!

Step Five: find the gown!! Whether you’re in the market for a two-piece ensemble, something all lace with beading, or a brightly colored number — you deserve to find the dress that’s perfectly you. A lot of the time, that means searching online for unique designers, and possibly having your dress imported from across the world… Find the dress that makes you feel like a million bucks in the millions of stores that use PayPal (including Nordstrom) – and let’s not forget the groom! You can use Paypal at shops such as Men’s Warehouse as well!

And, in the chance that you can’t decide between two (or three) different gowns — why not order them all? You can try them on at home to see which dress is the one, and then send the other(s) back with PayPal’s Return Shipping on Us benefitGenius? We think so.

Step Six: prep the guest list + send out the invites! Are you having your invites and other details done with custom calligraphy from an Etsy designer? PayPal has got your back allowing you to keep your financial info secure while making purchases online. This is great news when it comes to purchasing from small independent designers + especially those out of the country (and not to mention when paying in a different currency!).

Step Seven: bring on the food! Take a look at local catering companies, sample a wedding cake or two, and discuss: do you want cake or cookies? What about pie and macarons?

If you decide to have delights delivered from several different locations: macarons, cheesecake, cupcakes… the works! Many wedding pros will accept PayPal for payments and it makes it simple for you via the PayPal mobile app. Piece of cake ;)

Step Eight: it’s all in the details. Check back to the Pinterest boards for inspiration, and find a florist that can create your vision — perhaps hanging florals, abundant leafy greenery, or maybe even a wall of florals?! Next search for a rental place that can supply the proper tableware + furniture. We know how much you guys love finding fun + unique details — the perfect pair (or two!) of shoes, a stunning hairpiece or veil like the one above, and dresses for your bridesmaids… So what better place than eBay? Yup, PayPal partners with them, too, so checking out is a breeze when you’ve just won the perfect vintage veil crown! Can you say, “Score?
