Lauren + Jeffrey grew up around the corner from each other, attended the same school throughout their childhood, and later fell in love in Spain, thousands of miles away from the Houston suburb they called home. For their charming Texas hill country wedding, they knew they didn’t want something elaborate or centered around a theme or details. For them, it was all about the promises and vows regarding forever that they were making. A sweet, meaningful celebration with their nearest + dearest was just what they wanted and exactly what they got!
From Lauren, My inspiration for my wedding day was my marriage. I couldn’t wait to spend the evening with Jeffrey, I wanted to shout my vows to him as loud as possible, and dance with him, and laugh with him, and cry, and just be extremely joyful with him. The unity of my husband and I was something I had been anticipating for quite some time. I wanted to make sure that people knew why we were getting married – not to have our pictures taken, or to eat cake, or to look as beautiful as possible; I purposely didn’t make many accessories for the wedding because of this. I wanted a day that was radiant with happiness for everyone involved in the celebration: a party centered around two people that are so madly in love with each other. We invited people who have known us since we were children, friends that we both had from growing up together. We both have enormous families, and we wanted to share our story with members young and old–so that they might feel a closer bond to each of us. Our day was about simplicity, and the delight of unity.
Thanks so much to Lauren Apel Photo for these lovely photos of Lauren + Jeffrey’s day and big congrats to the adorable newlyweds!
The most memorable moment of my wedding was the first time I saw my Jeffrey waiting for me at the end of the aisle, in front of the chapel. I lifted my head with tears and couldn't believe it. This is the guy that loved me since we were children, spent 4 years in college away from me, and is the best friend I have ever had. Now, 12 years later I was looking at him while he waited to marry me. What?! I couldn't handle it. I completely became overwhelmed with what he had been so patient to do, and what I wanted to promise to him forever and ever.
What a dreamy shot!

Lauren’s look is just the prettiest, don’t you think?! milk + honey did a killer job with her hair + makeup!
I can only say that my advice to couples planning now would be to keep it simple. The day is about you and your groom, you and your bride. What you look like, what you eat and what you listen to, how perfect your make up is, how much your shoes cost, and where you got your dress from – none of it matters twenty years from now. What does matter is the relationship you have with the person you're about to marry. Just remember that the purpose of the entire day is just that. Then, go from there. Find accessories that make you both happy, find details that you both find beautiful, add elements to have the celebration you both want to have.

I really like the images in the woods. Nice contrast with the pristine white wedding dress and dark backdrop.
Muito belo cada detalhe e história contata!!
Thank you so much for the feature, GWS!
I MUST have more details on this wedding dress! It says BHLDN – but I can’t find the style anywhere! do you happen to know the name of the style?
Hey, Sara! The gown is called the Rococo gown–BHLDN may not sell it anymore online, but you could check with the actual stores and see if they still have it. Or you might try Ebay! I have had luck finding wedding gowns on Ebay before. Best of luck!
This dress looks exactly like Australian designer Collette Dinnigans from a few years ago.. there is a pre-worn one for sale on the site stillwhite … https://www.stillwhite.com.au/21908-collette-dinnigan-size-10
