Anna + Josh planned their day around a few key things, their choice of venue being one of the most influential. Durango Mountain (outside of Durango, Colorado where Josh and Anna lived at the time) is where Anna + her family grew up skiing. Her other most memorable childhood family trips were to a rustic ranch in Wyoming. So, when they found Blue Lake Ranch, it felt like a perfect fit right off the bat. Combining the perfect venue backdrop + inspiration from memories of the French antique store in Oklahoma Anna’s mom used to own, the theme for vintage-inspired farm to table, ranch-influenced celebration began to take shape. Anna shares more about their hopes for the atmosphere for the day below:
At the end of the day, we both love nothing more than a long delicious meal, pared with a great glass… or glasses of wine, and engaging conversation. When we started planning our day, we just took a perfect date night, threw in one of our favorite bands, added a few of our closest loved ones and called it good.
For Anna + Josh, it was so, so important to listen to their hearts when it came to their choosing their vendor team for the day. We’d say they totally scored with The Image Is Found + Love This Day Events; just check out the beautiful setting + images below…
An ultra-cute first look!
What a vibrant bouquet! Kara + Rachel of Love This Day Events tackled the floral design + it turned out beautifully.
From Nate (The Image Is Found), Anna and her sisters made the paper flowers for the ceremony site. The ceremony site on the river was chosen as tribute to Josh’s obsession with fly fishing. Normally in September in Durango, this particular stretch of river was dry – but for Anna and Josh it was a perfect fall bluebird day with the river running through it.

Love the hue of those J.Crew bridesmaid dresses above. And while we love Anna’s Anna Be dress on its own, when it’s topped with a lace shawl + silk belt (also by Anna Be) in this next set of images, we’re definitely swooning over it even more!
Isn’t this the prettiest tent reception?! We love the wild floral centerpieces combined with the relaxed feel of the tableware + place settings.
^^ Wait for it: A few photos down + this awesome sequin-clad vignette will feature the yummiest looking array of pies! ^^
Anna + Josh danced to Will You Walk With Me by Anne and Pete Sibley for their first dance as husband + wife. We love this happy capture of them doing their thing!
Don't stress, not everything has to be perfect. It is the first day of a lifetime of days, spent celebrating your life together, so sit back and enjoy the ride, but remember to take it all in, cause you only get to do this thing once.
