Focusing on the modern couple, minimalism, and a fresh and clean aesthetic, today’s editorial comes from planner, Shannon Wellington Weddings, along with designer, Devon & Pinkett— and we have a *feeling* that quite a few of you are going to love it just as much as us! Shannon tells us We wanted to focus on the modern couple — the ones that are not naive, they know what they want, and when it comes to their wedding, they’re doing it themselves. They’re paying for it. They’re choosing the vendors that they are drawn to, not just the ones their parents friends used. So when it came to producing a modern, fresh wedding editorial, we imagined our couple was that couple.
This is the couple that chose the sleekest boutique hotel in town to get ready in. The couple that chose an industrial venue because it felt so them. The couple that chose to ride off on the groom’s motorcycle because it’s their thing. Perhaps this sounds like you? Well, just wait until you see what kind of designs this idea spurred! From a modern and cool dress, to bright florals and a super hip venue in Philadelphia (Manayunk Brewery), every bit of this styled shoot is gold.
Let’s take a peek at the details captured by Viva Love Photography!
Bright yellow meets moody black hues and modern floral outlines. Isn’t this invitation suite by Devon & Pinkett DIVINE? It served as the main piece to tie the two ideas together.
Bringing in bright + cheery hues with sunset-hued ranunculus and bright white anemones, Devon & Pinkett created a posh and slightly wild aesthetic for the bouquet (which carried on to the centerpieces, too!)
We wanted to collaborate to bring about imagery for a modern, fresh, clean aesthetic paired with loose and organic florals for something that would be minimalist, yet not too buttoned up. We had a vision with a bride in a sleek gown next to a debonair groom in a black and white tux with a classic car or motorcycle.
Devon & Pinkett brought in some Gucci tortoise shell platform shoes and an off-white motorcycle jacket from her own closet to complement the most perfect Savannah Miller gown provided by Lovely Bride Philly.
That color palette! Bold black and white contrasts paired with a bright and punchy citrus palette, inspired by lemon, limes, blood oranges, tangerine, poppy and peach.
Taking note of the citrus hues, hair + makeup artist, Jessica Pineda, kept the bride looking fresh all day + played up her lips with an orange pop.
Absolutely stunning.

Maggpie Vintage Rentals supplemented all the final touches to create this industrial-inspired tablescape. We could definitely see many of these elements incorporated into the couple’s home after the wedding, too!
The confectionary masterpiece above was crafted by Cake Life Bakeshop.
Modern, fresh, + oh so cool. Right?! A huge thank you to the talented team behind this editorial!
To see a bit more from the day, Tom from Solidity Films captured the storyline in a pretty spectacular way:

Fall barn wedding may be my theme, but Minimalist is my overarching principle for sure! I love how they let hard contrasting decorations and colors carry the feel!
