Celestial-Inspired Vow Renewal in Malibu

“I choose you. And I’ll choose you over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you.” While we aren’t sure who originally said those beautiful words, we sure know the sentiment! And for anyone that is planning a vow renewal with their loved one, we couldn’t think of a better quote to capture the feeling!

There’s something magical about a vow renewal. Years of marriage have created new shared experiences, challenges, and growth among a couple, creating a new era of love. Marriage evolves from all past experiences and future hopes, and an intimate ceremony is the perfect way to recommit your love to each other. In honor of National Moon Day (yes, it’s a thing!), we’re heading out to Cielo Farms in Malibu, California with designer, Kristen of Stop and Stare Events, for this celestial-inspired vow renewal!

Let’s take a peek at all the starry goodness captured by Heirlume Photography, shall we?

We’ve been noticing the trend of floral mandalas more + more lately, and we’ve gotta say — we’re completely on board with it! As a design element alone, or to add a little flare to other vignettes, this is pretty fun, right?!

Bjoi Jewelry accessorized the models with custom made rings, an arm cuff, a rose necklace, and a stunning engagement ring, featuring a champagne diamond set within rose gold. All of their jewelry is cast using recycled brass, silver, and gold, and inspired by Earth and the natural world.

UM. THAT DRESS. HOLY SMOKES. Embroidered with sequins + delicate beading, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect gown for a celestial theme than this one from Gossamer!

The overall color palette was inspired by both the cosmos and the reflective + optical properties of crystals. Shades of lilac, soft gray-blues, ivories, and pops of bold purples were infused throughout. We could see this dreamy lounge set up for a moody beach elopement, too!

All that texture created with pieces from Sweet Salvage Designs… How sweet are this His Vows + Her Vows booklets from Hue Creative?! Oh and those marble chargers from Party Pleasers Event Rental Co.?!?! So good!

An intentional selection of crystals (including rose garnet, blue calcite, rose quartz, and smokey quartz) adorned the table, along with geodes, showcasing the natural rock element.

The floral designer, Amy Nicole Floral created a spread of moody blooms that lent themselves to the cosmic theme. Isn’t this such a neat statement piece?

Cheek to Cheek Artistry played up the model’s natural beauty with subtle bridal makeup, and styled her edgy silver tinged, braided hair in a loose, half up fashion. Designer Kristen of Stop and Stare Events shares, We loved that the model’s dress and hair were both a bit non-traditional, as it coincided with the concept of the shoot.

Simple + moody, to celebrate the day with a sweet side, Sugar Lab Bake Shop paired dark donuts with an ivory cake.

We made use of some less conventional spaces at Cielo Farms, to demonstrate that a couple really can make a space their own, with a bit of creativity. The couple shared an intimate dinner for two, surrounded by candlelight, against the natural stone backdrop… And headed out to the hills for a dreamy sunset portrait session. 

The couple ended their special day by sharing their vow renewal ceremony under the stars. Utilizing the unpaved dirt lot overlooking the hills, the setting included a large scale crescent moon made of purple pampas grass and scattered florals.

Giving us major *starry-eyes*… Who else is inspired to plan a vow renewal now?!
