Celebrate Your Original Wedding Date With a Colorful “Minimony”

colorful ceremony backdropHere we are on the brink of 2021 and wedding plans are still changing. It’s exhausting, to say the least, but there is one bright side and that is the permission we’ve all given ourselves to celebrate ANYWAY. Many couples are deciding to celebrate the original wedding date with something dubbed a “minimony.” Funny name, good idea, a minimony is essentially a preview of what’s to come when you gather again. Here’s a little BTS of this colorful minimony inspiration from photographer, Enuel Viera:

We proposed this styled shoot in honor of all the couples who had to cancel their original plans but still wanted to celebrate on their original date, accompanied by just a few close witnesses. The couple was a real couple who had been in quarantine together and were ecstatic to be able to celebrate in this way. The idea was to present a small ceremony at the original hotel where the couple was having their wedding (in this case, Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Puerto Rico) and later, host an outdoor dinner with close family members. We wanted bright colors and lots of humor to liven up the atmosphere.

The colorful event was a collaborative effort between planners + stylists Karisha Marie, Mia Eventos, and Alexandra Rodriguez. Let’s take a look at the photos from Enuel Viera!

Totally Tropical Minimony Ceremony

Puerto Rico minimonyThe team considered social distancing when setting up the ceremony site. When you have fewer guests it’s a great excuse to bring out the fancy chairs!

Such a fun and beautiful way to celebrate. And with that, here’s a final beautiful thought from the team behind the day:

Though plans have been altered for many couples, we genuinely believe a celebration is about creating moments you’ll get to treasure for a lifetime, regardless of the size or location. With this minimony, we wanted to remind all the amazing couples out there that social distancing is temporary, but love is forever.
