Camp Wild N Free: A Summer Night Party Inspired by 1969

Camp Wild n Free Event

Happy first day of summer, everyone!! In honor of today, we’re sharing this jaw dropping, uber cool, summer of ’69-inspired party! Welcome to Camp Wild N Free — a place where you can step back in time, hang out at (the coolest) summer camp, lay under the stars, and dance the night away to vinyl-only tunes.

The planner, Jill of Layered Vintage, shares After all the buzz and excitement from our all girl Galentine’s Day Party we knew we just had to carry on the momentum with another party… And we’re so glad she did! Teaming up with Pow Wow Design Studio, the team headed to The Brick in San Diego to create the ultimate camp/fort setting. And we mean ULTIMATE — as the venue has high ceilings, they were truly able to create the most epic displays, including a 20 foot dome turned lounge. The party was stacked with talented artists and fun things, such as: specialty s’mores by Mallow Mallow, a nail bar by Hello Birdie Lab, a makeup station with glitter by Child of Wild, an art installation by Wandering Delilah, and more!

Ready to see all the inspo for summer parties + weddings? Let’s wander through Camp Wild N Free via the photography by Arielle Vey!

THIS LOUNGE. Um, is this the most incredible thing you’ve ever seen, or what? We’re guessing that yeah, it most definitely is.

An eclectic combination of all sorts of goodies and patterns, we’d definitely cozy on up in this hang out spot.

Jill shares Not afraid of heights, we at Layered Vintage just had to get up there and created a free form floral chandelier decked with floating butterflies for over the dance floor.

Florals GALORE! From daisies and hydrangeas, to baby’s breath and accents of flowing grass — how incredible is this display by Layered Vintage?

COOL, right?! A huge thank you to the team behind this (incredibly awesome) party + thanks for letting us see all the fun! Oh, and that *epic* photo booth in the VW bus is The Photo Bus.

So, we’re curious — what elements would you incorporate into a “summer camp” event or wedding?
