Kika + Parker are a super relaxed duo who wanted their wedding to be more reminiscent of a dinner party than an overly scheduled, rigid affair. To make that happen, they had a cocktail hour to welcome their guests, then invited everyone to join them in their sweet, emotional ceremony (co-officiated by their sisters!), then there was another cocktail hour, and then they feasted on seasonal cuisine + listened to bluegrass music under the stars! Sounds incredibly perfect, don’t you think? Let’s hear a bit more about the day from K + P below:
We wanted our wedding to feel like a big dinner party! One of our favorite things to do is to gather with friends for big meals. When we were living in Philadelphia we used to have pot lucks on a friends deck that would be themed based on ingredients/season. We wanted to recreate the love and joy that comes from those kinds of gatherings for our wedding.
High fives to Lauren Wells Events for the stunning event design + coordination and Zac Wolf for the amazing images below!
Kika carried an ultra colorful peony bouquet – with feather accents – by Wild Folk Studio. Love, love, love!
By the time Parker and I got married we had already been together for over ten years (we met in high school and have been together ever since). We had thought that this familiarity would make the ceremony special but not overly emotional. We were wrong! In the days leading up to the wedding we got a lot of advice from family and friends. The best advice we received was to be present in the moment. We were especially aware of this during the ceremony itself. Focusing on each other and the commitment we were making, while being surrounded by all the people we love most in the world led to a lot of tears and a lot of joy.
We love that Kika and Parker weren’t afraid to go big with color! Their lounge areas – where their guests picnic’d on charcuterie + listened to bluegrass tunes by Chasing Blue – were filled with the prettiest rugs, poufs + pillows! We’ve rounded up our favorite, similar finds below so you can steal the look :)

This reception, featuring one long dining table for everyone, definitely echoes the feel of a relaxed summer dinner to us!
Pick a team of people to help you create your wedding that you trust to reflect your vision and are also awesome people. We were lucky to find the absolute best people to help us with our wedding and because of them, the day was more than we could have hoped for.

A tranquil lush background of green punctuated with stunning spurts of fabulous colour throughout – a very different wedding sort of wedding beautifully captured – I would liked to have been sitting at that wedding breakfast…quite Alice in Wonderland
Lovely mystical location, great use of natural light and perfect colours, great work!!
I love an outdoor wedding and wish I could shoot more of them. The sense of openess and smell of the outdoors during the summer…. The bouquet looks fab against the green.
What a great wedding! I love family style dinner, it’s so intimate. All the colors were so gorgeous and just really popped in all the photographs. Great wedding shoot! //www.bonnieandlauren.com
