Kelly + Jake LOVE a good garden. Who doesn’t?! Is there anything more romantic than getting lost together in the greenery of a beautiful outdoor space?
That’s why The Garden Villa in verdant Winter Park, Florida was the perfect location for their horticulturally-inspired wedding day. Guests got to meander down a winding garden path before arriving at an intimate ceremony and reception filled with bespoke botanical details. Bride Kelly is a super talented graphic designer, and she created the invitations, seating chart, and table numbers for their day as well as many other details inspired both by the couple’s love of gardens and Kelly’s love of vintage decor and art.
And the most exciting detail of all?! (Okay, we may be biased.) Her green wedding shoes!
Coordinators from At Last helped Kelly+ Jake create their flora + fauna festivities and Sydney Mormon Photography caught every glowy garden moment!
This gorgeous invitation suite is Bride Kelly’s handiwork! Also known as Kelly René Designs, Kelly’s got an Etsy Shop where her vintage-inspired design work can be found.
And there they are! We are (of course) obsessed with Kelly’s bold green floral print statement mules from Stuart Weitzman. Loving the idea of adding a pop of green to your wedding day look like Kelly? Check out these eye-catching emerald mules from Vince.
Flowers from Orlando Wholesale Florist came together in a bridal bouquet that looks like it was just gathered up in a magical garden. We love the white orchids (a meaningful flower for the couple) and the super-naturalistic green ribbon wrap on the stems!
This gorgeous getting-ready robe is from Bhatyani Handicraft.
Wow, we really can’t get enough! Kelly’s green wedding shoes added a bright and intricate moment to her wedding day look. If you’re on the hunt for bold footwear for your big day, check out our roundup of amazing wedding shoes and where to find them. Looking for a pair of green shoes? We got you too!
Those pops of yellow and orange in the bouquets came alive in this garden setting!
Sage green bridesmaid looks perfect for an elegant garden party! Kelly’s bridesmaids wore solid sage high-low dresses from Banana Republic and the patterned maxi beauties from Roller Rabbit.
When it came to wedding dresses, Kelly knew exactly what she wanted. It was just a matter of finding it! A comfortable, flattering kimono-style wrap dress easy to pair with statement accessories was the goal, and Reformation’s Winslow Dress was the answer!! As for finding the shoes? Love at first sight.
How wonderful are the little hints of pinks and yellows in Kelly’s orchids??
Nothing sweeter than a speechless groom.
Kelly + Jake brought the verdant garden vibe indoors by renting living plants from Greenery Productions. Four massive ficus trees created their ceremony backdrop and lush, fabulous ferns lined the aisles. This is such a great eco-friendly wedding idea.

Jake and his groomsmen scored their matching green suits from Jos. A. Bank.
The warm wood details of The Garden Villa‘s ceremony space look AMAZING with the vibrant greenery!
Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding
Jake: Turning around and seeing my beautiful wife-to-be in her wedding dress for the first time. She looked absolutely radiant.
Kelly: Jake and I wrote our vows to each other via handwritten notes that we each got to read on the morning of our wedding. Reading his heartfelt words made it all feel incredibly real to me – it was all finally happening… we were getting MARRIED at last!! I was brought to tears in thankfulness for my wonderful groom and his loving, caring heart of gold. God is so good!!!
Our Advice To Those Planning Now
Stay true to yourself during the process! Design a day that is all about you & your fiancé – from time of day, to menu, to music!
Lean on loved ones & accept help and company along the way! We had a professional wedding coordinator, Katie of At Last, for the month of our wedding which was such a gift. There is a lot to do – especially if you’re into all the details! We are forever grateful for our loving friends & fam who offered encouragement, support, and help along the way!
From my mom coming along with me to every single meeting and outing & bringing endless inspiration to the table, to my dad bringing my seating chart vision to life with his own two hands & learning our whole father/daughter dance, to my fabulous sister/ MOH, Becca, who was there with me through every single step, too – logistics, creative, idea generation, phone calls galore, taking virtual vendor meetings with me from across the state… we couldn’t have done it all without our incredible support system!
If you’re up against humidity and happy tears, seek out experienced hair & makeup artists who are up for the challenge! My dear friend Dorka Jones (makeup) and Liz Maldonado (hair) both absolutely nailed my vision and made it last through FL weather, reception dancing, and a stream of happy tears. It looked as flawless at the end of the night as it did when I first got it done! Go team!!
Kelly designed this clever bespoke seating chart. Instead of numbers, guests’ names were listed on cards with gorgeous garden-inspired illustrations that corresponded to illustrations on their tables!
Going above and beyond with specially designed touches, Kelly created an “Our Story in Symbols” card that each guest found as part of their place setting. “Each symbol represented a noteworthy or special moment in our love story,” Kelly says.
Other fun details included Kelly + Jake Trivia during cocktail hour (this bride + groom are big trivia buffs!) and a playlist curated to pay tribute to their shared love of 90’s tunes.
Sage green linens perfectly tie in Kelly’s bespoke seating cards.
Congratulations, Kelly + Jake, on a day of love in full bloom!! Best wishes from GWS!
