For all the dreamers out there who have ever imagined a simple + significant wedding in the desert, get ready to fall – big time – for Erika + Sean’s perfect boho celebration. In the winter, out in the middle of nowhere, amongst sculptural rocks + arid skies, these two tied the knot in front of a select group of family + friends. Sure, the subtle, stylish details were definitely on point, but we really think it’s the overall meaningful vibe of the day that stands out in these snaps by Shannen Natasha.
On their desert location, Erika says, We chose to give our vows in the desert because of how traditional and timeless the setting for marriage there is. The desert offers vast open space, which is opposite to what we know in our everyday. Open land, stars overhead, and a few of our closest is all we wanted.
You guys know us by now, so we’re sure you’re not surprised that we are all about Erika’s bridal look! She wore a gorgeous, effortless dress by Grace Loves Lace, paired with a stunning headpiece by Salita Matthews.
I still think of the dream-like feeling. Just resting with the realization directly beforehand, that I would be able to marry a lifelong companion - through thick and thin, for better or worse - was an incredible reality knowing it would be to the specific man who stood at the end of the aisle. Looking back on the entire wedding, it was in that instant that I loved most; walking down the aisle to the song Sean had written for that moment. I just remember the special feeling of capturing his gaze and attention, and walking towards him as my forever friend, husband, soul mate, lover, life partner.
Seriously loving these two and their style.
After the excitement of the engagement and many congratulations, Sean and I could only look forward to the wedding day. Months passed slower than usual during that time, but somehow the day had finally come, and we were more than ready to soak it all up - so we did. I remember being aware of every moment because of making the conscious decision to. With that, the day thankfully didn't escape me in a way that felt too fleeting (I had been warned of it).
