Totally loving the bohemian rocker vibe of this lovely shoot from Jen of Birds of a Feather! Inspired by Palm Springs and the amazing light there, she came up with this edgy bohemian shoot. A bit more behind her inspiration from Jen:
I’ve also always been inspired by this sort of “edgy bohemian” look. It reminds me a little of C.C. and Company, a movie from 1970 with Ann Margaret as a fashion journalist and Joe Namath as C.C, an outlaw biker who rescues her when her car breaks down in the desert. She’s very soft and feminine, but surrounded by black leather and motorcycles. I also took the idea of “edgy” and started thinking a little more specifically “rock and roll”. The dress with the gold sequin top as well as the hot pink eyeliner added to her rocker vibe. I then wanted everything else about her to be soft, flowing, and bohemian…It’s the juxtaposition that I think makes it interesting.
I’m in major love with her dress! And best part? It was rented from Rent the Runway! If you are looking to save money on a dress and don’t need to own your wedding dress, Rent the Runway is a great option! :)

I really wanted the flowers to be bold and gestural but also soft and feminine. I chose pampas grass as the star of the centerpiece because it’s so soft and flowing but also very striking. The pampas grass was combined with unusual flowers that have a lot of visual interest like king protea, snake head frittilaria, clematis, and hellebores and then the container was wrapped in custom printed marbled paper that reminded me of desert highways and rock formations.
