Bohemian Wedding in Southern Spain: Sophie + Craig

Last week we shared a super lovely backyard wedding in Asturias, Spain + today we have yet another gorgeous Spanish wedding that we know you’re going to love! It’s extra perfect timing, too, since GWS reported from the road in Spain all last week as the US Blog Ambassador for Barcelona Bridal Week – and Jen + Jason are currently in Mallorca, reviewing the island as a honeymoon destination, so more on that soon!

Sophie + Craig are two creative and talented soul mates from London, with a common lust for travel, yoga and community. Together they designed an intimate + meaningful nature-filled celebration with tons of personal touches throughout. Sophie tells us, We both instinctively knew that our wedding would be abroad and in a garden of some sort. We both live and breath yoga practice and love the mountains, regularly hiking together and often end up off the beaten track. So when we discovered the lush off-grid eco-retreat near the mountains and sea in Almeria, southern Spain, it was a dream come true.

It was important for us to start the wedding day together, so we arranged an open morning meditation for anyone who wished to join us. This allowed us to start the day with the right intention, give us perspective and enjoy being in the present moment rather than thinking ahead with all the day’s events. This helped both of us approach the wedding in a much more relaxed & open way; a feeling that was carried through the entire day.

Sophie handmade the bouquets from flowers from London’s Columbia flower market and dried them at home. So pretty + perfect for a destination wedding!

S + C are both vegetarians and were excited to serve their guests a great local, organic vegetarian meal. Large colorful paella dishes were carried out and a vegetarian buffet was presented to all the guests. Paperkite Photography tells us, No tables or chairs, no menus or wedding favours cluttered the space, instead Sophie and Craig kept it very simple, and as relaxed as possible. Everybody helped themselves and found a spot to sit around the pool to enjoy their meal as the sun set.
