Devin + Matt fell in love while working at an outdoor retailer, and instantly found they both loved summiting peaks and obscure beers. While visiting their favorite spot on Snoqualmie Pass to watch a solar eclipse, Matt proposed! As the couple has two little ones, they knew planning a wedding by themselves would not be an easy feat, so they brought on Rock & Stone Weddings to help them plan an outdoor event that truly reflected their relationship.
Devin shares: It was truly a family affair. My cousin made the cake, Matt’s cousin made all the boards for our grazing table, my dad and I caught all the fish we served, my best friend made our signage, and my old co-worker made the backdrop. I hand-embroidered 64 hoops—each one of them unique—to gift as favors.
All in the Details
As everything was taking place out in nature, their invitation suite from A Wild Bloom Printables reflected that…naturally. ;)
Isn’t her Rue De Seine ‘Marrakesh Melody’ dress STUNNING?! How we adore those sleeves and that sultry lace pattern!
The Wedding Party
As for that gem of a necklace? Leia Beila Jewelry crafted all the jewels for the bride + bridesmaids.
Aren’t those hand-painted tambourines the coolest?! Nice work, Ink & Sable!
The Woodsy Ceremony with the Coolest Backdrop
Sharing the day with 60 family and friends who we love so deeply and having our kids by our side every moment. While walking down the aisle, my daughter started crying and my dad and I carried her all the way to Matt, where I continued to hold her. Bridger didn't want Denali to have all the fun, so he decided to get up and run circles around my dress while Matt and I said out personal vows. Perfect day of perfect chaos.
That BACKDROP!! Devin’s old co-worker, Laura Burkhart, crafted that magnificent sort of Herringbone design.
Our inspiration was sustainable, Scandinavian with bohemian flair. We are both half Norwegian and Matt loves the sleekness of Nordic design, whereas I love the funky crazy colors and patterns of the wandering bohemian.
A Boho Meets Scandinavian Reception
Devin embroidered each of these darling favors by hand…and each one of them is unique! What an incredible gift!
Can’t get over how utterly adorable these are!
Know that your vision is possible on a budget. Don't hesitate to ask for help, whether from a planner or your friends and family. Use the creatives you know, and don't be afraid to get crafty yourself. Everyone wants to help, and nothing makes you feel more loved.
Now THAT is a guest book! We really dig its luxe quality, yet how it reflects nature, too. You can find more like this from Dustling and Hart.
Cheers to the two of you!
