How many of us have ever daydreamed of meeting The One at an airport? Guess what—for Anna + Dave it actually happened. On a flight from LA to Fiji for separate business trips, they hit it off and went on to fall in love there, on that dreamy tropical island. *sigh* What a perfect way to meet! Anna works in fashion for RipCurl so you’d think she’d have a big say in the day’s design details, right? Think again! A + D found a team they trusted in Seventh Bixel and Two Hearts Events, then handed over the reigns. All these two had to worry about was getting themselves down the beautiful aisle at Calamigos Ranch in the hills of Malibu! Easy peasy. Here’s more from Anna:
From the moment we started planning the wedding, we didn’t want to let the stress and details take over…we really wanted to be as hands-free as possible, so that we could truly enjoy the ride. I found my stylist, Niki, through a friend and after a few creative meetings, I honestly just let her take over the whole process. I think if you trust in the people you hire and let them do what they do best, that’s when the magic really happens! As someone who works in the fashion industry, I think the expectation was that I would be involved down to the smallest details…I think I really surprised everyone by choosing to be so loosely involved! It was the best decision I could have made.
Let’s see all the gorgeous details, captured by Christy Johnston Photography!
These retro invites by Prim and Pixie hinted at the fun ahead!
Wow. Doesn’t Anna look utterly timeless? Such a beautiful photo!
The Ceremony
Thatz bananas. Yeah, we love these two.
The geometric design theme flowed through every aspect of the day, most notably this killer backdrop!
That look! The sweetest!

Newlyweds!
They are the cutest!
Anna wore the Emanuela gown by one of our favorites, Grace Loves Lace. It looks like it was made just for her!

It’s so hard to pick the best moment! I have to go with one that was just sheer joy: we had been doing dance lessons for months, and we honestly both have two left feet. It was a miracle we made it through the first dance! But our instructor had taught us how to do a lift on the side....halfway through the night, with the courage of a few glasses of wine, Dave picked me up in the air, and we did our lift flawlessly, just for fun. The moment was all joy, all just for us.
Rogue and Fox crafted beautiful floral designs to compliment the ethereal aspects of the day. We love this bountiful, textured bouquet!
A CaLOVEfornia Reception
Circa Rentals brought in lovely pieces give guests a reprieve!
LOVE-ing these cheeky signs by Prim and Pixie!
Hello, dream dinner party! The reception tables were set with a boho-California theme and a splash of 70s magic thanks to the color palette. Think amber goblets, sage knotted napkins, and macrame runners.
Borrowed Blu‘s tabletop rental pieces were the perfect addition, as were the geometric table numbers.
Major floral inspo!
A Sweet Finish
Their desserts from Frost It Cakery included an assortment of custom macarons, chocolate-covered ombre Oreos, gold-leafed marshmallow treats, and a show-stopping three tiered color block cake.
I know it’s not for everyone, but I love how hands off we were in terms of the design details. It’s almost like we got to be guests at our own wedding, and see it through their eyes. We weren’t looking for mistakes, or things that weren’t executed to our specifications....we’ll never even know if there was anything that went wrong! We got to walk in, and just be as surprised and amazed as everyone else!
We’re so happy for these two! Congrats on your beautiful marriage, Anna + Dave!
