Guys, get ready to fall in love with Brittney + Alex (who are seriously the happiest duo), and their gorgeous garden wedding at Fairchild Tropical and Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, Florida. They customized the day to feel undeniably “them”, which meant bright, happy florals, a one-of-a-kind two-piece wedding dress, and plenty of sunny smiles to go around. Overall, their celebration had a relaxed, music festival feel + we honestly love every little bit of it!
Brittney says, We wanted a laid back vibe coupled with a twist of bohemian soul and organic Miami chic. Our wedding was really a reflection of the fact that Alex and I like to surround ourselves with all things good. From the company we keep to the food we eat and the memories we make, everything is always all good.
Bigt thanks to Merari Photography for these gorgy captures of the day!
Brittney says, After trying on several wedding dresses, I came to the conclusion that I innately find all wedding dresses kind of ugly. They’re just not me. Daily, I never dressed in a traditional or conventional manner and decided that my wedding dress should reflect that aspect of myself. Thus, the inspiration to design a 2 piece wedding dress (alongside Atelier By Dawn Kim) was spawned.
We’re all about this dress!
And the bridesmaids dresses, too! Each girls chose their own frock in a pretty pastel hue.
The florals, which were the beautiful work of Ever After Floral Design, felt right at home in the garden surroundings.
I remembered right before walking down the aisle a story from my mom had told me about her wedding day. She said that her wedding day was indeed the happiest day of her life. However, in Korean culture, you are not supposed to smile on your wedding day because it is believed that all the good luck will exit through your mouth. She said as her father walked her down the aisle she had to pinch herself under her bouquet hard enough to cause pain so that she wouldn't smile. With my mom's own experience in mind, I let all of my emotions freely flow and found that I was actually visibly shaking while walking down the aisle. My body literally could not contain all of my happiness at that moment and I felt like I was on the verge of reaching another realm nirvana. Alex and I actually kissed when I first reached the alter because we were both so happy to be there and could hardly contain ourselves. Second most memorable moment of our wedding day was the bottle of patron with a GoPro attached to it being passed our to all of our family and friends, young and old.
Processional: Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles (Instrumental)
Recessional: Sugar Magnolia – The Grateful Dead
First Dance: Stand By Me – Ben E. King
Plan, plan, plan, until you can plan no more. Then, on your wedding weekend, let it go. That's right. Let it all go. You've probably spent a whole year (or more!) matching color schemes, pinteresting like a fiend, and agonizing over seating charts. The stress of planning a wedding is enough to make even the most zen of us a little nuts. Entering my wedding weekend, I told myself that I had done all I could and now everything was officially out of my control. Talk about liberating! It rained during my outside cocktail hour, guests for some reason arrived to the ceremony an hour early, and the DJ played the wrong First Dance Song. You know what? None of it mattered! It was all out of my control. The whole day, I was giggly, ecstatic, and emanating all the love that was showered on me. As long as I had Alex, none of it (including my meticulously hand crafted decorations) really mattered any more. So just remember that during your wedding weekend. Accept what you can't control and party on.

I like bride’s gown and I agree with her sentiments that you just have to plan and then let go and enjoy. I love her comfy shoes too.
