When Cassandra + Jason got engaged, she imagined they would run way to Italy and have an intimate wedding, in wine country. However, as they talked more and more about it — Jason admitted that he wanted it to take place in his beloved Pacific Northwest. So, C+J decided on the next best thing: a venue with idyllic water + mountain views that required a ferry to get there. It didn’t hurt that the venue also had gardens and ruins that could almost pass for European, and a beautiful harbor.
And of course, it was all pulled off without a hitch. Cassandra, the blogger behind Coco+Kelley, runs an interior design + entertaining site, known for its darling tablescape + room designs. So, it comes as no surprise that their wedding at Roche Harbor Resort was brimming with bespoke details.
Cassandra shares: Being obsessive about details, food, and tabletops, my first step was to start brainstorming with my florist and coordinator, Cozbi Jean Hultz. She was my partner in putting this wedding together, every step of the way! I was blessed to have a friend who knew me so well able to guide me (and keep me focused!) She helped me to pull all the elements that I wanted into a story that made sense and fell very ‘us’. At one point during our planning, I had just gone on a trip to Copenhagen and I came back with photos of a tabletop I had seen in a store there. I was like, “Can we do this!?” and she rolled her eyes and laughed because I think it was the 100th time I’d had a new idea and the wedding was just months away, but she incorporated it perfectly.
Let’s travel to the PNW and take a tour with the photos captured by Katie Parra!
The Details
C+J designed their invitation suite with Minted.
C shares: We went back and forth on ferns or stripes or customizing the menu from our Save the Date… but, ultimately, ended up with something incredibly classic: letterpress.
Their first look reactions are TOO CUTE!
HELLO, STUNNERS! It was all about greenery + white in the florals that Cozbi Jean Hultz put together.
The Wedding Party
Neither Jason or I are very traditional, so we really made this wedding our own by throwing out certain traditions (no cutting the cake or garter toss here!), while adding in things that felt really special to us. We had our two best friends (one bridesmaid and one groomsman) officiate the wedding. They killed it with the perfect mix of humor and sentiment.
Playing with a light + ethereal palette, the bridesmaids donned an array of pretty pastel gowns.
The Ceremony
Processional: The Winner Is by Mychael Danna
Recessional: This Will Be An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole
First Dance: I Only Have Eyes for You by The Flamingos
Cassandra shares: And like they say – once you have the venue, it all falls into place! But with such a mix of styles, it was a bit more challenging than I though it would be. At least at first. When your job requires you to be fully aware of ALL the options you have as a bride for every little detail… it’s not easy to make a decision!
If there is one piece of insight that I would offer it's to make sure to take photos after the ceremony. I was SO much more happy and natural after all the nerves wore off (and I'd had a glass of wine!). The photos that Katie took after we had all relaxed a bit more are my favorite ones from the day!
The Tablescape
Isn’t that tablescape DIVINE?! We especially love the layering of the creamy fabrics, but in different textures to create dimension.

There were oysters (my favorite) and whiskey (his favorite) immediately following the ceremony. I almost forgot to do a seating chart and DIY’d it at the very last minute! We didn’t do favors, but I put out overflowing bowls of Italian amaretti cookies for guests to grab on their way out.
Marabou Design crafted this adorable menu — that’s so cute, we’d want to frame it — featuring all the decadent bites from Roche Harbor Resort.
To top it all off, they had this delicately patterned delight from Cakes by Felicitations!
Absolutely STUNNING. Who else is still swooning over her Elizabeth Dye gown?! Diggin’ all those floral appliqués!
