It’s the capsule collection we’ve been waiting for. The first-ever BHLDN x Free People bridesmaids dresses combine the best of both brands for dresses that take a walk on the bright side. It’s no secret that Free People is a staple favorite on GWS — the amount of times we’ve searched the site for a “little white dress” or a dress that could pass for bridesmaids is off the charts. And we’ve certainly found favorites, but the collaboration with BHLDN makes an official claim to Free People bridesmaids dresses. Ones that mix + match perfectly and beg to be worn in concert!
The collection is inspired by beach weddings and offers a bright and happy point of view to this new wedding season. You’ll recognize Free People’s effortless, bohemian roots, and iconic silhouettes from their archives, each elevated with a BHLDN touch. Think upgraded luxe fabrications and exclusive prints perfect for a wedding lineup. There are 5 new styles, plus variations on print + color for a total of 10 options. All styles in the BHLDN x Free People capsule are priced from $168 – $398 and available in sizes XS – Large.
The dresses launch today, May 10th! We chatted with the head of BHLDN, Lori Conley, about the new collection so let’s jump into your first look below!
BHLDN x Free People Bridesmaids Dresses for Boho Babes
How would you describe the BHLDN x Free People bridesmaid?
She is effortlessly cool, confident, and has a zest for life. Though these dresses are designed with the ability to complement each other, they also distinctively stand on their own, embodying the individualist spirit and creativity of the FP x BHLDN Maid.
How good are these bright pink hues?
Tell us the Free People bridesmaids dresses “origin story” — how does a collaboration begin?
I have always admired the spirit of the Free People brand as a fan of fashion. Its fiercely feminine approach to effortless dressing has always been something I have found to be one-of-a-kind. As I witnessed the nature of weddings change, suddenly becoming more relaxed and casual, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with our URBN sister brand. I loved the idea of bringing their fresh approach on bridesmaids to our customers. They’ve reimagined some of the most iconic FP dresses from their archives with new luxe fabrics and color pallets for BHLDN.
What’s one thing you wish bridesmaids knew about selecting a dress?
Be sure to get measured! Too often I’ve seen bridesmaids referring to their “street size” when ordering a dress. Different brands have different size grading so be sure to know your measurements and refer to size chart when ordering. BHLDN has a great how to video for measuring at home so that you can order online with confidence.
Sunny Bridesmaid Hues
It’s sunshine in a dress with the Lanna Dress!
Bridesmaids in Blue
This blue and white floral Lanna Dress — SO FRESH.
Bridesmaids Dresses to Mix and Match
If you were choosing dresses from the collection for your own bridesmaids, which one would be in your lineup?
The Sienna for sure! The boho vibes of the patchwork pieced lace and tropical print sing to me in all the right ways. It’s truly a dress my bridesmaid would love to wear again!
Boho Bridesmaids Dresses for Spring + Summer
Any trends you think are on their way out? Any here to stay?
I’m over chiffon. It’s been a mainstay in the basic bridesmaid world for way too long. Newer fabrics like charmeuse, velvet, and crepe feel younger and fresher. I love a fabric that has texture and personality. As for colors, I’m so energized by sunset hues. They feel so warm and inviting…I love how great they look mixed together.
It’s hard to choose a favorite combination but we love these two paired together!
What better way to bring a sunny outlook to your day than such happy hues? C’mon, get happy because you can shop the BHLDN x Free People bridesmaids dresses out now!
